Looks like a teaser for Picard has dropped. It got deleted from sites like 5 minutes after posting, but I found a mirror. https://streamable.com/ad5re

If the show was just about future wine production and Picard being reluctantly consulted by Starfleet brass over wine flights at his vineyard, I'm all about it. 60 minute conversations.

"Jean-Luc, you're the only one who can help in this situation. We need you, and we need you now." *Picard swirls the small amount of wine in his large tasting glass, observing the legs* *Picard gently sniffs the bouquet, a long series of short inhalations* *Picard takes a long, languid sip, rolling the wine about his tongue and palate, breathing its scent into his sinuses* *Picard swallows at last* "Hm" *Picard draws a long, contemplative breath* *Picard's mouth opens with a loud pop* *Seconds of silence somehow controlled by his open mouth* "You know, this is the 2366 vintage, Admiral." *Ponderous silence* *Picard inhales with impossible gravitas* "As these new grapes grew here on the vine, here in the sun... Locutus killed thousands at Wolf 359." "Jean-Luc, you-' "I killed thousands, Admiral." *A deep and dark silence* "Still," Picard says, "it's quite the drunk."

The general premise of the Picard show has been reported as the fall out of Romulus being destroyed, right? That teaser mentions a rescue armada so I could see Picard being broken by the devastation or getting there a moment too late to do anything. He tosses his commision and goes back to making wine where his family all burned alive in a house fire in the 24th century.

I really wonder if Beverly died on the Enterprise trying to rescue people or something. I feel like it can’t just be ‘oh no, too many people died’

I know JJ Abrams doesn't have any clue how space works but the whole supernova in another system still bugs me a lot. But I also liked the Romulans as characters so the idea that most of them went up in a flash bums me out. You can't have someone like Tomalak being arrogant on the screen when there isn't a Romulan fleet anymore. Also rest in peace Andreas Katsulas you were a fun actor in this often lovely genre.
