I remember being very squicked out watching that for the first time  As one of the folks who saw the film before reading the books it pretty much defines the imagery for me. Will be interesting to see if the Villeneuve film shifts that. His BR2049 was perfectly in line with Ridley’s initial vision being a sequel and not a remake.

I just watched Jodorowsky's Dune last night (although the copy I watched had no subtitles and my Spanish, French and German are all pretty poor) and holy crap, what a nut job that guy is. I'd really like to see El Topo and The Holy Mountain now. Right at the end when they show all the blatant repurposing of the artwork, that was pretty cool.
