I dunno, it was just a super fun and energetic show. And he did it with a broken jaw and I think recovering from a concussion as well!

If anything ohGr and Skinny Puppy don't have distinct enough sounds now that ohGr is darker and Mark Walk is involved in SP.

It sounds like they're working on a new album right now with the teasers they've been posting, so I'll definitely catch them if they're in Boston again. I actually didn't know he was injured until the day after his performance. I went to Convergence 25 a couple weeks ago and I think it was like the third or fourth time I had seen Matt Setzer perform. He's been in a different band every time I've seen him. That guy is in EVERY band.

Rammstein built a whole new stage for their current European tour which kicked off last night. That's good news for anybody outside of Europe, because they kept the last stage for like 10 years or some poo poo, so it would imply that there's a lot more touring coming up. It's pretty sweet. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1Pg1jQGWgd8&t=236s https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3CX9Klldogo Volkerball fucked around with this message at 10:29 on May 28, 2019 |

Loved Rammstein as a teenage dork back when they released Sehnsucht but I've never been too into them since then. But their live shows always seems like so much fun. And they just seem like nice guys. Agressive music with german lyrics making it big in the US was bound to attract a certain breed of shithead and I've always respected the way they made it VERY clear where they stand politically. Gonna listen to their latest album tonight for old times sake.

I've seen them four times and yeah, it was basically the same general stage every time. A few differences here and there, year to year. Now I'm pumped. I dig the art deco vibe.

The video for Auslander is not a disappointment either, despite following two awesome ones. As soon as I saw the larger lady, I knew Flake would be involved.

I don't really listen to Rammstein anymore (I like the new album a lot though), but I saw them at their 10 year return to US show at MSG back in like 2011 and then a few years later in I think 2013. Even if you're only kinda a fan, I would recommend going and experiencing their live show. It's so much fun.

Gonna echo everyone else for a moment here and say if you've ever even remotely been a fan of Rammstein you absolutely need to see them at least once. They do crazy poo poo every song.

Amen brother. I also anticipate this sending me down my yearly "go re-listen to KMFDM and remember how awesome Light and Nihil and Money and Naive is but also delete their entire catalogue from my iPod a week later" phase

New Cubanate just dropped. Really excited for this. Marc Heal said they'd recorded a bunch of songs when they did We Are Crowd but hadn't figured out lyrics for them. That was a really strong track and they were fantastic on tour in 2017. https://armalyte.bandcamp.com/album/cubanate-kolossus

Just a heads up that the WaxTrax doc might be floating around on a site that’s for buccaneers. You should also buy it, it comes out tomorrow. It’s good. En esch looks pregnant

I was fairly certain that the Doc had gotten its official release a while ago now, at least the WT site has been shipping it for a while now. I saw PIG a bit ago when Raymond had Gunther and Esch in tow and Esch was clearly powered by PBR. If you're a fan and want to see him go do so sooner rather than later cause he ain't gonna stick around for long with his current lifestyle.

Listening to the new Rammstein album a bit and comparing it to Sehnsucht. A. It's a if time stood still. They haven't changed their sound at all since 97. Pretty charming actually. B. Listening to both albums on Spotify I don't like how the new one sounds production wise. I'm sure there is some smart term for it but it seems like it uses the whole spectrum even when it doesn't if you know what I mean. Sehnsucht seems much more focused. C. They still got it. They seem incapable of writing a song that isn't catchy. D. Having a muic video portray jewish prisoners shooting SS officers in the face is a refreshingly blunt way to remind people of where they stand politically in 2019.

not sure if this is still the right place for HEALTH stuff but I really like the single that they dropped today http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oYRqFFNdH9o&list=RDoYRqFFNdH9o also Slaves of Fear is growing on me a little more after initially hating it. still not as good as Death Magic but meh

This is definitely the right place for HEALTH, despite being lighter than the usual stuff ITT. Cheers for the heads up regardless, it didn't make it onto my Spotify release radar for some reason. Slaves of Fear gets a lot easier to enjoy when you realize that it's contrived as hell, and that it doesn't matter at all that it is. It doesn't push any boundaries at all for anyone, but it makes you glad that HEALTH is a thing and that they put out such a definitive release.

Millions of Crows posted:I'm certain they had an African-german(one assumes) woman portray Germania because they knew nazi scum would claim the song and Rammstein represented them if that role was played by someone pale and blonde. As someone who likes a lot of industrial music and neo-folk stuff I like how Rammstein always tell the nazis to gently caress off. Industrial music in general has a tendency to attract quite a few shitheads what with all the uniforms and leather but I'd say that the ratio of artist with lovely views is similar to most genres. But enjoying neo-folk is a curse. I mostly use spotify for music but when it comes to neo-folk I still have a folder with pirated mp3s since I don't want to support the artists in any way. I'm just a sucker for melancholic songs about decay, odes to roman generals and poo poo like that. You know, nerd poo poo. Such a shame that 99% of neo-folk artists are nazi shitheads. At least I get the feeling that they're not the kind of people who will actually go out and do anything. More likely to be the founding (and sole) member of something like The order of teutonic knights of Sheffield.

I saw Hanzel und Gretyl open for MINISTRY well over 10 years ago. Maybe 2003? This was just after they released their album, Über Alles. The whole nazi spill thing was done in such a over-the-top way then, no-one really took it too serious. Now, in today's current political climate, it may be received just a little different.
