Smaller-sized companies could go after the VR porn niche, sure but the big ones and especially hardware manufacturers would kill their target markets if they openly endorsed porn on their stores. If their actual endgame is to break into the mainstream (as impossible as it is) then there's nothing worse they could do than openly turn it into a sex toy. That kind of long-term foresight is way too complex for Valve though - they'd rather turn their store into a sex mod Nexus and then still try to market the hardware to families. Just release official VR gently caress games with Dota 2, TF2 and Half-Life characters at that point. Now that's a killer app with a ton of cosmetic lootbox potential, own your decisions Valve.
