it occurs to me now that this went pretty much the same way as fujiwara training shirogane to not be terrible at something. each time he claims to not be that bad at something, demonstrates true horror, and then fujiwara grudgingly drags him toward basic competence. this time, the subject was romance, and unlike fujiwara kaguya found his staggering ineptitude to be charming instead of offputting.

I thought he had stashed a perfect present as a surprise under his lovely one, but Kaguya using the wrapping like she did was 1,000% better. Still plenty of fun stuff to get to too, like them announcing that they're dating (or watching them try to hide it), the treasurer's love life, getting Kaguya's family on board with her studying abroad, and whatever other crazy scenario the people making this fine manga come up with. If they're willing to get into more of the actual dating experience then there's loads of comic potential there too. Not to be crass or anything, but Shirogane mentally struggling about the notion of touching Kaguya's chest seems like it could be super funny and entertaining. I wouldn't have expected that to come up, but now that we've seen a french kiss and Kaguya's said the word sex, along with her friend admitting she'd had sex, anything's possible.
