It could have been so much worse. When Merlord asked if it was going to be functional, I said, “Only if you do the scripting.” And the next morning he posted a video of him using one of the dark elf grunts, the grossest one, at an anime test pillow he made. I told him to tone it down to a PG-13 with the most “m’laaaaady” greetings he could find, with some suggestions but then... he added some more and...

Now people are requesting their favorite MW waifus and I’m like... I only picked ones I thought would be funny, guys, stop being gross omg

I did this to myself :negative:

I think it's just that I don't have anything in my game that has a stated cleanliness level, one way or the other. Declaring something to be "87% Clean" sets it apart from the entire rest of the world, which was presumed to be "fine" and remains so.

You have introduced the concept of filth.

Don’t worry, we’ll even it out with more filth mechanics once we get to the bathing mechanics in Ashfall. I highly suspect Merlord of adding that feature as a test uh... bed :shrek:

How do ya'll handle low framerates in areas like Old Ebonheart? Some of the TR areas are seriously making me consider switching to OpenMW just for the engine speed and stability. I'm running an I7 3770 and a GTX1080 and some parts of TR get single digit framerate. Do ya'll just ride it out? I'm going to try the old school Morrowind FPS Optimizer just because with distant land turned on it won't be as visible of an effect as it used to be.

Hotkey distant land toggle or shaders or distance in mgexe

Woah, cool. So many neat mods lately. Follower teleporting and weapon sheathing are great too. Although weapon sheathing doesn’t play nice with MCA. But no problem, there’s an in-game option to blacklist individual esps which is a level of user friendliness I never expected from a Morrowind mod.

So how long until someone implements rag doll physics? :haw:

On another note, I somehow managed to bug my encumbrance such that I’m only carrying 53, no wait, now it’s at 34 after dropping most of my inventory and picking it back up. This is with a full set of heavy armor and a stash of potions and stuff.

Is this going to come back and bite me in the rear end somehow,or should I just enjoy my new superpower?

sometimes a shoddy script or similar "removes" an item from your inventory that wasn't actually there, deducting the weight. You can do it yourself too, if I'm fed up with being encumbered I like to use the console to remove a Daedric cuirass and instantly lose 90 pounds, like the Morrowind equivalent of the bowel movement I had this morning

As a general rule you want to install / load massive encompassing mods first, then work your way down to more specific to be safe.

Also yes, if you run the file patcher. Instructions included in project. I'm probably not the best person to ask, I usually run vanilla textures and rarely if ever actually play to test lol

Huh, nice. Well, I'll see if I can reproduce it. Pretty sure it's because I was trying to drop some equipment at the same time as I had the alchemy crafting window open. Or immediately after, when I was using a scripted ingredient sorter.

This. Having to parse which mods do and don’t work and going back to a lot of the “vanilla” ways OpenMW does things doesn’t appeal to me too much. If I wanted a vanilla game I’d definitely use OpenMW. But I’m in love with all these new MWSE mods.

Yeah, I read something about dirty dialog and gently caress that noise. Luckily all I'm trying to change is some creature stats.

I'm actually trying to make a compatibility patch for one of your mods, I think. Some of the changes from Sixth House rebalance are being overwritten by Greater Dwemer Ruins.

E: So I think it's because DNGDR changes the meshes and sizes of a bunch of the Dagoths. I have no clue why that would mess with their stats and spells though.

Edit a single stat and you save the entire state of the npc. What patches do normally is just manually combine the two into one record that loads last and has the 'final say'

Ps unrelated heres a wicked new mod that adds a ton of unique models to things that didnt have them

I haven't played in 3 years, but I had an idea for a character I'd like to try. It's going to be mostly vanilla but I do plan to mod some. I have a new computer since last time so it's a fresh install. I don't recall what the process was last time I did this, so I'd like to know which order I set these up:

Wrye Mash
4GB Patch
MGE XE
Morrowind Code Patch
Morrowind Optimization Patch
Patch for Purists
MGE Distant Lights
Other mods (Better Dialogue Font, Delayed DB Attacks, Graphic Herbalism MWSE ~ OpenMW [plus "trama" patch], QuickLoot)

I assume Mash is 1st since I have to change the create dates of the BSAs and "other mods" are last. Am I missing anything important?

Ah yes, so it does. It was added in the previous release to current. It also redates the Steam BSAs for you so Wrye Mash might not be needed? OP could use an update I guess.

Also I grabbed Timeslip's .exe optimizer, but A) is it necessary? B) Can anyone confirm that it works with Win10? Looks like it hasn't been updated for quite some time.

e: Wrye Mash is still necessary for configuring load order. Using .exe optimizer is not recommended.

This is the best install order I can come up with after reading the various readmes and nexus descriptions:

Wrye Mash (?)
Morrowind Code Patch
Morrowind Optimization Patch
Patch for Purists (load order - Dialogue Typos, Base Patch, Book Typos, Floating Rocks, Expansion Implementation, Dialogue Inconsistencies, Statistic Typos)
Other mods (load order - Better Dialogue Font, Graphic Herbalism MWSE ~ OpenMW [plus "trama" patch], QuickLoot, Delayed DB Attacks)
Install MGE XE
Install MGE Distant Lights
Run MGE XE, do setup (my post here has instructions to remove popup on statics)

e: fwiw, in this setup, with the following MGE settings:
6.0 draw distance
Fancy fog
Dynamic shadows
Other shaders disabled
Statics generated for everything 64 units and higher
All statics visible within draw distance

...gets a mostly consistent 60fps in exteriors on my rig (i5-7600k, GTX 1060 6GB, 16 GB DDR4 @ 3ghz, m.2 PCI-E SSD, standard 60hz 1080p monitor). It dips into the 50s in some spots, but I think that's ok. Might be able to get more frames and/or draw distance by raising the 64-unit static limit since I noticed zero popup while walking around mountaintops.
