Honestly the fact that Bubba and Velvet are Kiss fans is the truly offensive thing in all this.

Unlovable
It reminds me so much of TNA just in that once cracks start appearing in the boat, the leaks start coming from everywhere. Like the MSG thing and this incident are indicative of way bigger systemic problems in how ROH is clearly being run and decisions are being made. It's one of those things where the process to even things out can start now, but once these things begin falling apart it's really hard to slow things down before you're LOLROH.

To be honest, at this point, I don't really care. I always enjoyed the ROH product and have probably been to more ROH shows than any other promotion, but it simply isn't an interesting product any more and hasn't been for a long time.

ROH was best when it was run by a pedophile trying to prop up his VHS sales business. He had the realization that replacing ECW with more garbage hardcore wouldn't work, but almost Japanese strong style would.

At least, that's the only time I ever went to an ROH show. Of course I didn't know that RF was into literal children.

No it wasn't. Their golden period came after he was forced out.

For me, their golden era was the hind end of Punk's reign, the rise of Bryan Danielson, into the Nigel Era and then it started to coast and gradually derail when the Briscoes became the face of the company.

Right, all this happened after Gabe fully took over, although I'm pretty sure he was long gone by the time Jay won the strap

Yeah the Gabe years 04-09 were probably the "Golden Period". Though things have been good to great until this year really. Losing all of the Elite, SCU and Chuck Taylor at once put them in a major bind. Where before they had the ability to restock from the outside, that isn't possible with everyone raiding young talent and they hadn't done a good job at producing their own in quite a while.

Honestly, if they decide to get rid of Bully, Delirious and whatever they are calling the Beautiful People this week all at once and do some house cleaning it is probably the best possible thing they could do right now. Get some fresh faces and ideas out there and try to get something going with what they got. Hopefully by next year things will be on a good enough footing where when the WWE exodus starts not only can they get a good name or two but also be able to use them well.

How much does NJPW's relationship hinge on Delirious being the booker?

I imagine it has nothing to do with it at all. If anything at this point it might improve relations.

STING 64

right now its an awkward relationship because ROH is partnered up with CMLL, who NJPW has a real longstanding relationship with. I think the ROH partnership is just out of convenience to having an american partner that doesn't upset their other partnership. If ROH and CMLL's union fizzles, I'd imagine NJPW drops ROH cold.

Theoretically, AEW can act like a US version of Crash Lucha where it becomes sorta neutral ground for AAA and CMLL acts.

The major thing is NJPW's reliance on CMLL for foreign excursions. ROH has been a real bust in this regard. ROH barely used EVIL and RP3K's run through ROH only happened because Rocky put his foot down on Delirious's neck.

Yeah, that's probably true. I had already moved to Florida by then so I wasn't going to shows any more. For the first few years I was going to everything they did in New England. RF was still there for Punk vs Raven in a cage, which is my personal ROH live highlight.

Let me rephrase than. ROH was less of a carny sideshow than it is now back when it was formed by a pedophile in order to prop up his VHS sales business.

Hellblazer187

I feel like MLW or Impact (with the new ownership) would be a better partner promotion. Actually, do they need to even torch the ROH relationship to re partner with Impact? Impact is Canadian now, so a different country and market.

Big E especially is invincible since the entire New Day repeatedly said they'd just retire if they broke up and apparently that threat has worked all the way up to a world title lol. But things are even more different now and they probably know somebody like Big E would literally just be a tremendous get for literally any promotion.
