Reinstalled app, nothing with the swing. But I did see that Google Fit isn't even recording my steps at all, even when walking like normal and without the swing. edit: Another reinstall and at least steps are showing in Fit. loving hell POGO, why won't you take the steps! Aerodactyl is a permanently boosted rate because it doesn't appear in the wild, so it has the same rate as Shinx/Mawile/Absol. Onix does appear in the wild, so it should have the normal shiny rate of 1/400. Unless, of course, it is boosted for the event, but I haven't heard anything about that yet.

For some reason, I don't think HP is going to be the phenomenon that Pogo was. A lot of people I know are way over it, even though they were midnight book release types starting with OotP. Even if you are a fan, are you really onboard with covering up magic?

You all might want to check that your adventure sync is still on. My app updated (Android) at 5 am, and despite preserving all of my other settings, the update turned off adventure sync and only adventure sync... during the one week it matters most. Lost my morning walk, I guess.

Yeah updates love to turn adventure sync off. It's kind of like how Facebook loves to set all your privacy settings to default (ie most permissive) whenever they change them. Only more stupid because presumably they want you using adventure sync.

One possible cause for it getting turned off, at least.

Yep, my Adventure Sync was disabled, too. This is maybe the second time it's happened ever, but it's still frustrating when it does happen. In lighter news, I finally hit Level 10 in Ingress yesterday and unlocked Portal Nominations! I also got invited to a local discord that has links to tons of tools that are super-handy for understanding the S2 map cell system. It lets you determine exactly where Pokestops and Gyms will appear when new Ingress portals are accepted. I submitted the Little Free Library on the corner near our home. The locals tell me it should be a slam-dunk approval, and it would turn the nearby stop into a new gym. I'm happy to be able to contribute! I just hope the Nomination system rolls out to more PoGo players at some point, because I think it adds another layer to the gameplay beyond just reaching what's already there on the map - you have to actually find new things for others to discover. Some people might not go for that but I like being able to improve the game in some way. If one hasn't played seriously but wants to get back into this, how much progression level wise should one care about before skipping stuff. It always felt like I was way behind in 2016, but I wonder whether there's quality of life changes or helpers that make the system more enjoyable. I know I could import some into Let's Go Eevee, but I doubt the reverse is possible.

30 if you want to be of much actual use in raids (usually not necessary), 38 will let you max out your Pokemon's level but the gains between 30 and 40 aren't huge. It only makes a big difference if you're trying to beat the raid boss with the minimum (or close to it) number of people required. Gyms are completely nerfed now though, so you can beat them with almost anything once their motivation depletes.
|
# ? Jun 5, 2019 20:44 |
|
In 2016, if you even started like 2 weeks after launch, you felt permanently behind because all the day 1 people more or less bogarted gyms and therefore it was hard for you to ever get coins. That's thankfully no longer the case after they completely re-tooled gyms, and pretty much anyone can participate in anything, save for getting into competitive PvP, for which there's no in-game rewards. There's just so much more going on with the game today, it's worth getting back into. I'd recommend reading up on all the different features though, because there were things I was still learning about 5 months after getting back in, that I just had no idea we're things.
