So she's not as good at sports as she'd like to be, eats a lot, attends the trip to Hawaii, and gains her persona in a sequence that only Joker and Morgana are present for.

Well that's not bad, but we still don't know how it all fits together.

Does it though? Like, I know that seeing only Joker and Morgana at her awakening could imply that, but their HP and SP values look more like mid-late game values to me. The lack of the other PTs doesn’t really mean much to me either, since this could be a scenario where Joker tails new girl or something and they end up in the metaverse, or vice versa, and Morgana’s basically attached to Joker at almost all times so it makes sense for him to be there too.

Cool we've seen her Persona and all out attack, don't need to buy the game now.

I hope the scenes of her are either from her social link or they added new events for all characters. I don't want to get back on the Mary Sue train.

Kasumi’s Persona is Cendrillon, the French version of Cinderella.

Also, I just realized KT could absolutely put a Three Kingdoms or Sengoku period figure in Persona 5 Scramble, given what Personas are based off of. They’re probably going to do their own thing instead of referencing other franchises, though.

Can't really draw anything definitive from that, either way, since there's a jumpcut between the awakening video and the actual battle. And it's not like there's anything preventing you from only taking a single person with you into a dungeon (like, say, to show off a new character in a trailer), so the HP values may or may not actually matter.

With that said, on the assumption she's a permanent party member once joined, I'd guess either late game... or in/around the summer break (and Hawaii). Summer's the only real area early on with a legitimate gap between preexisting character plots, so she could be reasonably fit in there - and there's more reason for the protagonist to be the only one around. Though she's in her winter uniform in the awakening, so who knows? Adding to the issue, going by her description it's not exactly impossible her awakening and her actually permanently joining the party don't happen at the same time.

edit: Looked at the video some more, and it definitely looks like the same area. And given the winter uniform... yeah, it's fairly late-game, probably post-(current)final. You're certainly interacting for the whole game though. Alternatively the video is heavily lying for that portion.

She's definitely present at the Hawaii trip, given the "Aloha" sign in the shop where she konichi...was Joker. And the way she's interacting with him seems to imply a familiarity, so she's probably a party member by that point

I'm suspecting she and her social link will pop up early on but get gated by the main plot, like Sojiro and Marie.

Her introduction trailer has her say that she dislikes the Phantom Thieves for forcing people to change instead of letting them do it themselves. I can only see her joining up in the new time period. It not, then right before Okumura’s Palace at the earliest. She’s definitely going to be popping up throughout the entire game, though.

The character they added in Persona 4 was show horned into every aspect of the game, and all the characters go on about how amazing she is and how much they love her. people call her a mary sue because of its similarity to actual Mary Sue self insert characters.

I'm honestly glad I'm not playing Golden. Maybe if a Vita emulator appears I'll give it a whirl, but the changes certainly don't sound thrilling enough to buy a piece of hardware I'll only ever use for one game.

It was the first Nu Persona game to allow the reapplying of Buffs/Debuffs before they wear off. At least I was told this feature wasn't in original P4 .

The AI in P3FES, despite all the complaints, isn't half as much a problem or annoyance as watching helplessly as the boss' attack goes back up to normal and the party's defense goes back down to normal and waiting to get wrecked. Oh I know everything will wear off next turn and the enemy will get their attack in before I can do poo poo but I just have to hope I don't die.

P4G though lets you refresh the buffs and debuffs and therefore is the best. W ell, that's one reason why.

So PQ2 isn't English dubbed, which I normally don't mind at all (I played through the entirety of Xenoblade2 with Japanese audio), but man, hearing all the Japanese VA has really made me realize how much the English cast knocked it out of the park. It feels like everyone has way less of a personality even just among the P5 cast. I'd cite specific characters, but it's basically everyone, though Futaba is the most lacking by far.

The game establishes that they aren't explicitly aware of what's going on in their cognitive world but the entire game's premise is that messing with someones cognition messes with them in turn. People with particularly strong mental discipline such as Shido are even shown to be aware in the real world when their cognition is being changed.

They also just drop voice acting mid-way through scenes sometimes so uhhh I think the budget was pretty low on all fronts. I guess it's worth noting that this is a Sega game, not Atlus/Persona Team, so that kind of explains the production values

Yeah the english voice acting is ridiculously good. Ryuji, for as much as he annoyed me, certainly had the best voice acting. Morgana, Ann, Yusuke (Matt Mercer :swoon:), Makoto and Futaba all stand out. Haru I don't think shines as well as the otherse in that regard, except for her intro when her and Morgana meet up with the rest of the Phantom Thieves in Okumura's palace

I'm at the point where it's really easy for me to imagine how all the lines would have been voiced and I so badly want that version of the game. There's a funny little back-and-forth between Yusuke and Futaba in the first hour that falls flat in Japanese just because of how flat the lines are delivered in compared to how animated the two are. Ryuji is definitely lacking, too. Akechi is basically just there and lacks any sort of distinct personality to his voice, same with Makoto. Haru and Ann have totally different vibes to them. If anything, I think it'd be worth to watch the first hour of PQ2 just to really get an intense appreciation for how great P5's voice acting was. I'm already mourning the lack of Junpei and Elizabeth and they haven't even shown up yet.

e: a good example of Futaba being wholly different is when all the characters are trying to name a FOE encounter. Yusuke says "The Raging Avian Sent From Hell" and Futaba's immediately follow-up is "And we'll just ingore Inari..." Reading that line, you'd think it would sound like "aaaaaaaaaaaaaand we'll just ignore Inari," but the Japanese VA basically whispers the line under her breath. Her English VA really characterized her totally differently that what you're seeing here and it's really weird to see
