Does throwing all my trash into my neighbour's yard make things less clean? It depends on who you ask How can cutting down rainforests be bad for the environment, when it gets rid of all those nasty bugs and birds that poop on your head?

Sage Grimm posted:You're right but Ontario is not coming back until Oct 28, more than a month later than the normal return on Sept 6. It's very much within the narrative since the federal elections are happening in-between those two dates. Doug just wants to make sure he gets more vacation time than the teachers. Oh the tough life of being an MPP.

DariusLikewise posted:i dont think thats unusual either for provincial legislatures I got curious and looked at the other province's sessional calendars to see if there's some commonality. BC is basically off from beginning of June to beginning of October consistently while Alberta is only from beginning of August to middle of October (though 2018 had them start vacation mid-June). Ontario's legislature has been consistent about returning that week in September, too. And this is Doug we're talking about.

The Alberta NDP are currently filibustering the new labour bill that would cut wages of youth and gently caress over anyone who banks overtime. Sixteen hours of it. They may have lost the election, but drat if they aren't still fighting.

gently caress! I can't find the ad now but way back when Ford rolled out the model A or T, there were ads about how the leaky total-loss oiling system was a benefit because oil kept the dirt roads from being dusty. Fuckin also just lol quote:fossil fuels, are essential to the standards of living and environmental cleanliness enjoyed by just about everybody in the developed world.[..] Super glad we live in a plastic bubble dome where things that happen elsewhere don't effect us. Once the garbage leaves Canada it just disappears into a void, probably just turns into a puff of clean air honestly. That line about clean air in major cities too, nevermind the perpetually burning forests it's FINE

This guy is amazing I just had a facebook ad for him: https://robcarbone.com/?fbclid=IwAR2vZ4jG_j5boibyYMIy-6QlBPmOYFEfiPLVJ1iTNozwbQprbwB7bDcYZKs The best thing is he's running as "The Leader of the Republican Party of Canada" which sounds like he's going to be a big time fiscal conservative and then you look at his platform and he's pie in the sky socialist without even knowing it. It's a good laugh.
