Yeah Chelsea Cain pretty much showed her true colors after people received her Image book poorly. Sucks because Mockingbird was fun but she's lovely and very petty. I'm glad now she got her Vision book yanked.

I don't think that's an excuse-- if it was every trans person who has ever existed on social media would have a blank check to be an rear end in a top hat. If she's become somewhat justifiably wary of taking criticism in good faith prima facie or w/e that's one thing, but her behavior isn't just defensive-- it's self-absorbed, self-righteous, and oblivious. It's absolutely textbook for a kind of white liberalism that centers the placid experience of moral rectitude above the actual needs and desires of marginalized people.

Nothing hurts like criticism that, deep down, you know has a point, but you don't want to acknowledge that point because it would mean that the awesome thing you've been working on really hard for a long time time actually isn't that great and you hosed up. Like, chud abuse isn't fun, but it's hard to take seriously because it's pretty clear that they were never interested in what you're doing and are only there to be dicks. There's also the real genuine unavoidable fact that some people aren't willing to extend the same treatment to others they expect themselves and get really confrontational when that comes up.

As shown there are still folks who like him for whatever reason, but the real question is why do you give Liefeld money and expect him to hit a deadline. Refusing to engage with refunds when you also (apparently) claimed to honor them does shoot holes in his 'nicest guy in comics' image.
