You have to remember, Ninja High School was from the time where you couldn't just get manga anywhere, and anime was called "Japanimation" and you had to spend $60 for a three-episode VHS at the Suncoast Video.

He's a guy who nick-named his archenemy "the Big Red Cheese" and I'd like to think that made Captain Marvel more upset with him than anything else.

There's a reason that Captain Marvel was the top selling comic throughout the forties and early-50's.

That was the one omission from the Shazam! movie that bugged me -- Sivana never got to say "Big Red Cheese." Of course, it probably wouldn't have jibed with the movie's grimmer interpretation of Sivana but surely they could have worked it in somewhere, dammit.

Looks like the first use of that exact phrase was in 1911 and common enough to be a running gag in a play from 1917 (including "curses, oiled again!" after an incident with an oil can). Curses and foiling were both in heavy use 50 years prior to those.

Hakata is apparently one of the oldest cities in Japan with a big tourism industry, so I imagine it's like a Colonial Williamsburg but with a lovely old-school accent like Mark Wahlberg's Bostonian.

But IDK because I'm not that jacked in to Japanese culture.
