That's a pretty good recommendation for Aufhebungabunga, any podcast that will invite Bastani to talk about FALC is worth a listen

Chapo was my first political podcast and the thing I dislike, and dislike about American journalism in general, is the lack of combatitiveness between the hosts and guests. I'm not talking about Bill O'Reilly/Ben Shapiro pwnage culture, I mean that idea that the host has to challenge their guests and their views a little bit by inventing positions that might represent diametric oppositions to theirs. Chapo feels a little bit too echo-chambery while still being much funnier.

I'm trying to put it off for a little but there's no way I can wait for what may well be a year before diving in to fill the space I did do some Citations Neededses and that Florida Man episode raises good points but also I've lived in Florida for 10 years now and this place does have a...feel to it. it's probably some cognitive dissonance bullshit but still

The most important part of an invasion of Iran is the fact that it has 81 million citizens, compare to 24 mil in Iraq pre-2003 invasion, and that they are singularly unified in their very justified hatred of the United States and total opposition to any US intervention/invasion of their country. Their comments on how Iran has had 2 decades to "beta test" against US forces for an insurgency is accurate, the Shia militias that regularly frag US MRAPs/Gun trucks with EFPs are easy mode compared to the insurgency we'd see in a country like Iran.

Radio War Nerd had a good episode about a war with Iran that they made free recently. They do cite the millennium challenge uncritically but it's not the center of the episode. Dolan quotes some US think tank analysis of our navy's vulnerability to missile swarms. The solution is to develop lasers guns apparently. https://www.patreon.com/posts/radio-war-nerd-26939754

Yeah, even the least charitable interpretation of the millennium challenge exercises leaves you with the result that the USA spent hundreds of millions of dollars on war games against a hypothetical Iran and learned absolutely nothing of value. Which also does not bode well for the US's chances against Iran.
