Interesting, to me it sounded like a few generations on from the social-Darwin-like madness of phrenology and that mania for classification of race to make the white guys feel less threatened by their common ancestry, which led to world government conspiracies (code for "jews" in a lot of cases, sadly) and aliens.

Well, it kind of is. Basically white occultists and new-agers glommed onto Hinduism and added aliens: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sanat_Kumara There have also been multiple expeditions to the "lost city" of Shamballah in Tibet where these aliens are supposed to be (and I think there was also a nazi one at some point?): quote:Inspired by Theosophical lore and several visiting Mongol lamas, Gleb Bokii, the chief Bolshevik cryptographer and one of the bosses of the Soviet secret police, along with his writer friend Alexander Barchenko, embarked on a quest for Shambhala, in an attempt to merge Kalachakra-tantra and ideas of Communism in the 1920s. Among other things, in a secret laboratory affiliated with the secret police, Bokii and Barchenko experimented with Buddhist spiritual techniques to try to find a key for engineering perfect communist human beings.[14] They contemplated a special expedition to Inner Asia to retrieve the wisdom of Shambhala – the project fell through as a result of intrigues within the Soviet intelligence service, as well as rival efforts of the Soviet Foreign Commissariat that sent its own expedition to Tibet in 1924. change my name fucked around with this message at 03:56 on Jun 1, 2019 |

Digirat posted:just listened through 304 and I still don't know what the christ it was about That's what makes it so great. One of the ones worth following along with the doc because it's even crazier to read yourself. You get more of a sense of several weirdnesses coming together and not really caring whether they contradict each other.

As someone who has kinda fallen into following-ish fringe history stuff, 304 was amazing. It's basically modern Ancient Aliens. That sounds weird, because Ancient Aliens is still putting out new episodes but, like, it's still mostly old-person-crazy (and also plain old-crazy). This thing was like if you took Ancient Aliens and added videogame/internet crazy to it. It's just on another level.

As far as i could tell, the weirdo used some kind of hypnosis and had a heartbeat listening session with a young woman on her smartphone, leaving her unawares after he finished. Whether or not he was the same guy with the secretions is unclear. There's like. No context for any of this on the rest of the blog. Just pictures of ladies with hearts photoshopped onto them very poorly.

I made some investments that recently paid off. I actually bought a whole bunch of poo poo on Garbage Day weekend, including booking a hotel room, so I got to have a discussion with my bank about multiple transactions of $69.69. It was definitely worth it though.
