Im having a great time with Verlet Swing. Its a swinging, grappling hook first-person platformer. Its easy to play and hard to master. Im pretty bad and its still a good time.

It could work decently well to have some sort of Hyrule/Twilight realm system with Link in one and Zelda in the other. Make a magic connection between them to hand wave away Zelda being able to swing around a sword and shield surf or whatever and Link being able to use magic and science things. Just put in various points where you switch between them and the other person goes into "ghost mode" or whatever and you can then even keep the whole "use the other realm to bypass an obstacle" thing in other games.

I downloaded Collection of Mana and forced myself to play through Final Fantasy Adventure since I’ve never beaten it. Hot take: it really has not aged well. The hit detection is extremely janky, the music is mostly awful and the dungeons are horribly designed. A few hours into the game they are each a massive sprawling series of rooms with one correct path and several decoy paths that either lead to dead ends or loop you back to earlier in the dungeon. The worst thing is the locked door/key stuff. You can either buy keys or get certain enemies to drop them (which is rare) but if you’re in a dungeon and hit a locked door but don’t have a key you either have to find an enemy that drops them or backtrack all the way to the closest town to buy some more. Do yourself a favor and skip it unless you really want to see the origins of the systems that get greatly improved in later titles (charging powerful attacks, different weapons having practical applications outside battle, choosing stats upon level up, etc.).

It was really cool when I had that a-ha moment, although it came to me maybe too fast. Watch the wafting particles of light and go in whatever direction the wind is blowing in.

I kinda wish the Lost Woods made it less obvious that you went the wrong way, like maybe finding a way to invisibly teleport you by stitching together different parts of the woods seamlessly.

At the beginning there's a few lit braziers that seem to guide you, but then they stop abruptly about a quarter of the way. If you look closely, you'll notice the embers from each brazier are blowing towards the next one. Light a torch and walk through the forest while watching which direction the wind is blowing your torch's embers towards, going slowly so you don't wander too far off when the wind changes direction.

I love these little Korok fellas. I just finished watching Oaki go through his trial and he was so adorable and brave. :3

Cadence of Hyrule has a couple of interesting tricks. There's a "long" way to do a few things, but there's also quick tells that players can use. There's two different tricks to navigating the Lost Woods. One involves using an item, but once you know the trick, you can skip it entirely.

It's really fun to see all the carry overs from Necrodancer and all the quality of life changes. (I have way too much time in Necrodancer, so I'm already speedrunning CoH)

There are a couple of moons that are way easier to get with specific waggle throws.

There are also a few challenges where it is better to play in co-op mode and control the hat instead of Mario.

One of the ghost zoras has him under a spell. There's a tell on which one is the one you want put a bomb on to fight it proper and wake the prince up. He gives you flippers after you do.

Really? It didn't strike me as ragequittingly difficult. I got it on my second try after eating a stealth boost meal, and I was more focused on cheering on the little guy. The wood trial was definitely much more difficult and stressful, even after getting lucky and having an octorok take out a bunch of flaming keese with friendly fire.

You are, you're supposed to bomb the real ghost Zora who talks to you.

I bought the locket that nullifies lava and coals very early and it completely broke the fire temple, I could have gone straight to the boss key from the entrance.

Yup. There are two tells. One: talk to all of them. the once that responds is the one to bomb Two: One of them doesn't have a shadow

We've already found a lot of skips for the first floor of all the dungeons.

Everybody's probably salivating at the thought of Animal Crossing New Horizons, but the question some will have is this: Are there cloud saves? French gamerag Gamekult asked the necessary question:

Google Translate posted:

With the advent of cloud saves and automatic backup, how will you handle Mr. Resetti's interventions?

Higashi Nogami: New Horizons will not be compatible with cloud backup, to avoid manipulating time, which remains one of the founding concepts of the series.
So no cloud saves, like in Splatoon 2 - incidentally a game Nogami is also a big part of.

You're forgetting the dungeons were the game puts neat stuff into dead ends, or where the real path is a dead end until you go down one of the fake paths and get the weapon/magic spell which allows you the main puzzle on the main path. This way you're often forced to go down the decoy paths anyway. Kind of a neat design philosophy! But yeah, the poo poo with the keys is horrible, even as a kid I always carried tons of them everywhere, out of fear of getting stuck. :v:

And because of your comment about FFA's music, I will now have to track you down and kill you with this rusty axe

I want the game to know if you've hosed with the clock and impose serious consequences.

When you start doing it the game is basically over anyway since you realise that everything is meaningless and nothing is real. Have all the villagers disappear or the island flood due to climate change or something.

are we reading it the same way? I took it as him saying avoiding time manipulation is one of the core concepts (which would be weird since the games had a menu option to do just that)

anyway people enjoy games differently and I've always been very bad at "play a little bit of the same game each day" type games (which is one of the reasons I don't play mobile games) so I really enjoyed being able to just go to the menu and advance time to play a few days at a time when I sat down to play Animal Crossing :shobon:

e: the games have always been super strict about save manipulation though, i.e. one save file per system, no backup, no redoing or rerolling, so I assume he's just talking about that
