Stelio Kontos posted:Upon a Burning Body dropped a new one, nothing inventive but fun as usual. Cave In also dropped a mostly not core album but its Cave In so I feel like it has a place here. I've never been a huge Cave In fan, but the new album is great. The circumstances around the album (their bassist died, so they just mixed the demos they'd recorded with him and released them as the new album) are obviously tragic, but I can't think of a better way to remember him.

Map Change is an amazing song and probably among the best metalcore songs in existence, but if you want to show someone who knows gently caress-all about Every Time I Die that wants to know what they're all about, The Coin Has A Say is pretty much "we distilled our essence into a 2:45 minute song, enjoy your headbanging headache/hangover, you little poo poo".

Yeah that's a really good post, The Coin Has A Say is very much a ETID cliffnotes jam Floater is my #1 get hype song of all time though. I want to break something punch someone or lift something any time that song starts up

A couple of friends set a live feed to the Warped Tour's last date from last year and holy jesus, watching Jordan play Map Change's outro riffs for like 10 minutes and people were not leaving because and they were hugging him and crying and goddamn.

The closing ETID Warped set is on YouTube and that 10 minute Map Change outro is very emotional

The sad reality is that there is actually a greater-than-zero chance this lady doesn't have insurance and basically had to choose between keeping her toe and paying rent, though Like it's 99.9% chance a totally frivolous cash grab, but, y'know, health care in America ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

The new Obey the Brave record is probably going to be loving awful. The 3 new songs all suck rear end so far. They're basically heavy radio rock at this point. Young Blood and Salvation were loving absolute ripping hardcore bangers, Mad Season was about 50/50. Oh well. Good luck getting paid boys.

Any y'all remember that Columbus, OH band Eternal Void? Their tape Catharsis made my top 10 for 2018. I thought they had dipped, but they're back from radio silence with a new member and a new cover single. Regardless of how you feel about Alice in Chains, play this bitch one time. If you're not into these euurghs @0:38 then not sure what to tell you. Anyone check out the 10 year anniversary, remixed version of ABR's Constellations album? It's getting me back into the album that really got me into ABR and it's awesome. Overall sound is much cleaner and there's a lot more clarity in the guitars.

double post because you all should absolutely be listening to this callous daoboys poo poo. this is among the top discoveries i've made in this thread. it's like some kids decided to slap together everything that's good about these albums: calculating infinity / miss machine last night in town / hot drat! canada songs and probably some chariot albums i never got around to listening to, plus whatever else they decided to throw in. plus there's a violinist and it feels like such a natural addition when listening to their music and not so much like a gimmick imo. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UmdLZf4QqbA https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CWwcS_w5mVM

i hope you enjoy them! i consider them (for a variety of reasons - some personal) to be The Greatest Band That Ever Was. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4OTEoq7rdiA also if you like them and want something similar and even more mathy check out Craw. who ironically i found out about from the ISIS merch guy when i saw them touring for Oceanic a lifetime ago. I soon learned that "merch guy" was Aaron Turner and HHR just put out the (final) Craw record. the Keelhaul drummer plays on this Craw album, too. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l3Kcqnxb0b0
