The player gets to inhabit those shoes [and] apply their own personality."[12] Bungie concept artist Eddie Smith described Master Chef as "pretty much the consummate professional. He does his job, walks off, doesn't even get the girl, he's that cool he doesn't need her."[13]

Tonic immobility has been hypothesized to occur in humans undergoing intense trauma, including sexual assault. While "freezing" in response to life-threatening situations is well-known, the common "freeze" response exhibited by victims of rape is often misunderstood as passive consent.[18][19][20]

quote:During the Middle Ages, sexuality and lust were seen, by some, as evidence of humanity's fall from grace. In the eyes of some viewers, this sin is depicted in the left-hand panel through Adam's, allegedly lustful, gaze towards Eve, and it has been proposed that the center panel was created as a warning to the viewer to avoid a life of sinful pleasure.[49] According to this view, the penalty for such sins is shown in the right panel of the triptych. In the lower right-hand corner, a man is approached by a pig wearing the veil of a nun. The pig is shown trying to seduce the man to sign legal documents. Lust is further said to be symbolised by the gigantic musical instruments and by the choral singers in the left foreground of the panel. Musical instruments often carried erotic connotations in works of art of the period, and lust was referred to in moralising sources as the "music of the flesh". There has also been the view that Bosch's use of music here might be a rebuke against traveling minstrels, often thought of as purveyors of bawdy song and verse.[50] very natural language there, also thumbs up for the incredibly hedging copy

simply being horny was totally a widespread sin back in the middle ages the whole idea behind the original succubus/incubus was that it was a thing that hosed You. not like hosed you outside of marriage or in exchange for your soul, but just got your dick wet, like on your way home from whatever

oh, that reminds me of one of the most genuinely worthless things on wikipedia: those little dots on maps e.g. go here https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bucharest and you see this little picture in the sidebar with the location highlighted. neato. that image is really tiny though! let's go in for a closer look oh, the dot disappears and it's just the unlabeled underlying map of romania why every single page that has one of those little red dots does this and it's so loving stupid and obvious

# ? Jun 23, 2019 20:39 |

the actual reason is hilariously dumb -- the dot thing is a picture of a dot overlaid a picture of the underlying mass, and when you click on any picture on wikipeda it'll take you to the picture, singular. it's not some actual thing it's just some markup invention the editors made up

here's a fun one. my dad is a pastor in the denomination that put out this book, so i'm pretty famliar with this type of thing from going to church all the time when i was growing up. anyway the wiki page is all Categories: Lutheran hymnals | 2006 non-fiction books the first part of the book is basically stage directions for putting on a worship/mass. then, the bulk of it is music and poems, a bunch of which are explicitly fictional or metaphorical. i don't understand how somebody came to the conclusion that it needed to be labeled on the fiction/non-fiction binary Lutha Mahtin fucked around with this message at 22:45 on Jun 23, 2019 |

All versions are sung to the tune of The Colonel Bogey March. O'Brien's version of the song runs:[citation needed] Göring has only got one ball Hitler's [are] so very small Himmler's so very similar And Goebbels has no balls at all Popular alterations have been made to the lines in this version, most of them apparently for the purpose of better fitting the "Colonel Bogey" rhythm. A common version swaps the names in the first two lines and improves the scansion of the final line:[5] Hitler has only got one ball Göring has two but very small Himmler is rather sim'lar But poor old Goebbels has no balls at all Outside the United Kingdom, the second line is often sung as "the other is on the kitchen wall" or another location such as the Taj Mahal. Some areas of the UK alter the second line from the Albert Hall to feature local buildings. Hitler has only got one ball The other is in the Albert Hall His mother, the dirty bugger Cut it off when he was small[6]
