corbyn represents a revolt against the neoliberal consensus which has the potential to be quite transformative if it succeeds, like what thatcher did to the post-war consensus. to their credit, his opponents seem to have realised this, and since their wagons are quite hitched to said consensus, they're going to fight against him tooth and nail

of course, some of them have probably honestly convinced themselves that corbyn is a terrorist supporter who'll sell britain out to iran and turn the economy into venezuela, but they're crazy people

corbynism's domestic agenda is extremely radical in today's environment simply in that it wants the government to... do things directly and shape society beyond just establishing more totalitarian security regimes and fiddling with funding here and there. if corbynism is attempted and successful, it opens up a whole vista of political possibility to which is going to be very hard for the right to respond. one example here is mcdonnel's Green Industrial Revolution policy, which i think is a credible way of bridging the divide between the workers and the environmental cause, and to address some of the big political issues with the green programme (i.e. it's irreconcilable with free-market capitalism) through brute state intervention

this is also one of the reasons the EU sucks; because it severely hampers this sort of policy

What is a bill?

A Bill is a proposal for a new law, or a proposal to change an existing law that is presented for debate before Parliament.

Bills are introduced in either the House of Commons or House of Lords for examination, discussion and amendment.

When both Houses have agreed on the content of a Bill it is then presented to the reigning monarch for approval (known as Royal Assent).

Once Royal Assent is given a Bill becomes an Act of Parliament and is law.
