Pretty sure the best teamcomp in TFT right now is wild -> shapeshifters -> dragons. There's a bunch of variants you can do, and I won my last two games (back to back on PBE). In this one, I didn't find gnar/sol until super late, but I used assassins as a midgame transition (with Rengar). Worked really well, and it didn't require losing almost all my health early to set it up.

My final opponent had something similar, but the assassin midgame was so strong I was able to win streak pretty long while staying at 40+ gold. (Also, he kept not moving his ASol even when I put Zephyr on a guy in the opposite corner- thanks to whoever had the tip about how Zephyr targets the equivalent hex on the other side of the board!)

Played a few games and I always come in second or third. Can't seem to cross that last hump to total victory-I think I reroll too agressively and burn through gold willy-nilly.

It's live on Europe.

I won my first game despite I couldn't figure out how to beat the pve monsters. Only won one round against them after the initial rounds. Ended dabbling in different groups (ninja, void, assassin, yoddle), but my final opponent didn't transition out of Darius and Garen. 2 redemptions and abillities helped prolonged the fights into my favour. Was lucky with a Kassadin in carousel in late game to make a 3 star one since I couldn't find one burning through rerolls.

I'll say this, for low tier units both Kassadin and Zed can really stand their own against even higher tier stuff.

Kass will be surprisingly tanky by turning enemy mana into a shield and making his chosen victim just useless if ult dependent, Zed has the solo ninja bonus and since the same unit type doesn't change synergies you can stack a couple T1 or T2 zeds while upgrading just fine.

Had my first 100% health win by stacking assassins with defensive and attack speed items with kassadin as the only tank and later turning draven into an assassin, you don't need damage items on assassins since their crits already hit for around 1000.

Queue is almost gone at this point but it's late as hell in the USA. I also just won my second match on live, and again I ended with 100 HP, I can't wait for ELO to come out so I can think I'm good and sink to Iron IV

Just won my first game! Wild Sorcerers got it done. Made the bouncehouse with Gnar/Morgana/Lulu and let Ahri/Asol/Nidalee go to town.

2nd game I repeated the same strat because that how the draft fell. Somehow I managed to ended up with 2 Force of Nature. The 2nd one I got from a carousel with MF - as 5th pick. Doubt games will always be this easy.

I suspect assassins might be overtuned as I watch zed one-shot crit the entire enemy lineup for 2200 damage each hit.

I'm not entirely sure what composition beats 3-6 assassins besides a couple other people grabbing all your assassin picks first, not even tier 3 units live long to do anything when just basic attacks hits for up to 1000-2000 damage and a rank 1 orange unit will have less then 1000 hp.

Combine with void synergy or a ghostblade on your favorite none-assassin for extra hilarity.

You're looking for Shen here, just have to survive long enough to get your ult off.

I think nobles + guardians provides enough armor to survive assassin comps, just guardians might be enough in some cases you just have to slow them down a little and they all fall over.

E: And now the queue throttle has come across the Atlantic and EU must now suffer as well.

Yeah like 5 minutes after they posted about how they totally fixed it, they posted they'd have to throttle in EUW as well, but now they don't even have the bug to blame, just not enough servers. :psyduck: How could they have predicted this. Also they use AWS so just spin up some on demand instances you cheap bastards, can't like all those tweets about people dropping 100 dollars on your BS TFT loot crates and not spend anything.

I played my first game this morning and had some questions. Compared to Underlords and Auto Chess mobile, its really hard to tell which units in TFT belong to which alliance/synergy. I don't really play LoL at all so thats on me to learn what each unit does (as well as just learning their names too), but at a glance it was really hard to just tell who belonged to what. When I clicked on the synergy stuff on the left side of the screen I was hoping the units would be highlighted so I can have an easy way to see who I should be placing on the board. Also is there no DPS chart? And can you see how much gold your opponents have or do you have to click on their name/board to see that? I lost my first game just because I had no idea what to even go for since I haven't paid attention to what classes do what. Also there seemed to be no way to right click or inspect any of the units during the carousel phase, which as a new player can be super confusing.

TFT lacks a ton of QoL features that the other auto chess clones have right now. A DPS meter is a top priority and there are some mockups, but not coming until maybe the next major patch in ~2 weeks. You can estimate the gold of your opponent by looking at the number of interest globes they have on the side of the board. (Left side is you, right side is opponent.) Or you can go to their board. There's no synopsis of what synergies/units people have yet. The synergies I think you just have to memorize. It also has real issues with visual clarity, it's hard to read the fights and tell why you're winning/losing, it's really hard to roll for some reason. I'm super slow at it compared to other games and I watch streamers who all have thousands of hours in league and they're still super slow compared to other games. I think the portraits just aren't as easy to recognize, and there's no visual indicator if you already have a unit or anything. I think it's still pretty fun, but I'm not sure I'd bother if I didn't already like LoL and the champions. Plenty of room for them to improve though and I think the item system has the most potential, but no harm in waiting for them to patch it up a bit and play something else. They don't even have progress turned on for TFT so there's not even a grind to do.

They completely disabled it on EUW now.

Another fun little assassin is graves with titanic hydra and gunslinger bonus. Just an AoE death machine jumping into the middle of their team.

Assassins are strong, but lategame with 8-9 units they have trouble getting to relevant units when the board gets clogged up. Their lack of ranged units really hurts them. If they’re jumping to level two Sejuani or Gnar or Cho while an ADC is free to auto, assassins are gonna get wrecked. That’s why I really like the teamcomp that put them with Gnar and Sol

Yeah that sucks, but RFC makes it so you can't miss, which lets you hit people with PD. Getting one on your carry is pretty high priority.

you can instantly beat assassin comps by getting a PD and thornmail on some tank and putting the tank in the back with your horses

Death is whimsical today

Went from a few days of Underlords to this today and man the UI is just lacking. I'm spoiled by the draft screen that shows you how many of each of a unit you have, or if you have none, how many more of each faction it will bring you. Also the faction icons need to have colors and not just be all grey.

However the LoL champions are more interesting imo, and now that queues are unfucked it's fun!

It's an early beta so QoL things are probably already in the pipeline
