I think this was absolutely an intentional move to tie into his “only reasonable man in the room” schtick he’s trying to cultivate by acting like he’ll return us to a happy purple country. Trying to be the adult in the room who follows the rules, etc

I posted a couple of articles on it. There are a few ways that could be done; rotating Federal judges onto the Supreme Court constantly, etc. A few ways court nerds have spitballed at fixing the court and Buttigieg and Sanders seem to like the idea I guess.

Y'all gotta stop making GBS threads on Biden for referring to his time with the Obama administration. Absolutely everyone is referring to their most recent past political experiences, whether that be the office they currently hold or just held a few years ago because that is what has impacted the country most recently.

A vice president is an absolutely vital part of policy-shaping in the executive branch, so yeah, when Biden says “we” did something when he refers to what he and Obama got done, he means “we.” He helped make that change. He loving got it done. He gets to own that, too.

Honestly, Harris seems like a reasonable candidate to support at this point.

Not to diminish abhorrent poo poo like prosecuting the parents of truant children- I don't think she's an inherently good person or anything. There's no reason to have faith in her to pull through on important issues.

But she's saying the right things now, and saying them well. As a politician she's doing pretty well.

I think Obama was poo poo at governing, but I do think there was value in his ability to say the right things well. He was great as a symbol. Harris could be the same. Someone like Obama or Harris would totally hitch on to a progressive movement and do what they can to promote it/ride it as far as they can.

I think there's a pretty big gap between her and Warren/Sanders, but I've just about come around to thinking of her as "good," in contrast to the rest of the garbage "frontrunners".

Doomsday scenario : Biden or Warren or Buttigieg eak out Iowa, Sanders gets 3rd place. Sanders wins NH by a closer margin than he should have. Sanders gets 3rd place in Nevada.

Then Harris wins SC and she gets the nomination by sheer will of the media and donut Twitter.

But why not just add more judges? poo poo, we've already had as many as ten, and the number is set by an easily adjustable stature. Just throw down 4 more judges on there to make it a nice 13 (and space out when they're added and nominate the least controversial candidates imaginable so you can claim it's less partisan) and bam, the courts are substantially less hosed up than they are now.

Yep, literally the first thing he would do!

Biden really should have taken the opportunity instead of declaring he wanted to run for President to declare he understood it was time for him and his generation to step aside in favor of the younger. Instead, a complete nobody (Stallwell?) manages to throw shade at him on the stage about that whole passing the torch thing which may be worse than the beating he took from Kamala Harris. At least she's somebody, I don't even know if I'm spelling Stallwell's name right.

He's not and I think it would be foolish to think he is.

He's wounded bad, but he'll still be one of the frontrunners come July 30th and if he can do better then or if someone fucks up worse of if a million things happen in Trump time and dead children and the threat of war distracts us then he can recover.

I say that as someone who really wants him done.
