Maybe it's just him trying to use exotic names because it's sort of about a struggle between the world society and an alien (human) society? Still a good read. As for the Dune names, he says it's because future society will have only some of the markers of the current time. So take names, for instance, and give them whatever twist you want. The hero art in the original release is way better, but having a new board, tokens, and a clarified ruleset sounds great. I'm a little annoyed that they didn't take this opportunity to add the 2 expansions to the base game and that they will probably be charging down the road for them, but overall it's nice to see the best strategy boardgame of all time get a long needed coat of paint. Can't find images atm but in the Avalon Hill magazine at the time there were bonus faction tokens published for Landsraad, Ixians, and Bene Tleilax Though they're probably the rarest pieces of cardboard in all of boardgamedom, but they had the same awesome art style.
