Tried the 71 dungeon as an AST, I ran out of buttons on the first double pull, and had to resort to just mainlining Benefic IIs into the tank with them hovering just above 10%.

I've been having better luck with Nocturnal Sect in dungeons now, oddly enough. Don't really like it and I'd like to go back to diurnal, but when I swapped over suddenly tanks weren't getting chunked anymore.

Just don't forget aspected benny costs twice as much for noct.

I feel Noct has been better in dungeons for a long time, especially when undergeared and unlevelled. That 500 potency shield is just too juicy. I just switch to Diurnal on bosses, especially after Celestial Intersection.

now, I dunno poo poo about poo poo, but I have sch at 80 and if I could cast aetherflow out of combat again I think I'd be satisfied. it feels incredibly stupid to use. it's like how in early stormblood, warrior's beast gauge was halved whenever you switched stances: why does it even work this way? hopefully, like that, it's also changed quickly.

I have a macro that swaps between the two, so I usually start Noct, preshield with Aspected Benefic, and then swap to Diurnal for the regen in combat. Most of AST's difficulties come from overall damage being ratcheted up a ton while some of their strongest combos were either toned down or removed. A Largesse'd Diurnal Aspected Benefic + Collective Unconscious with Time Dilation provided an incomparable amount of healing compared to what AST has now.

My only two real complaints with SCH are that single weave clipping being optimal feels awkward to use, and that there's no reason for Art of War to cost as much as it does for a piddly potency gain compared to Holy. I think you could safely reintroduce Energy Drain, which would help to mitigate single weave clipping (since you could ED with Ruin II + another oGCD in order to not lose potency), provide a good Aetherflow dump, and help with Art of War's cost - by making it, say, reduce the MP cost of your next Art of War instead of restoring flat mana - if they're adamant on keeping its current cost the same for whatever reason.

While I miss collective unconsciousness buff time extension, you can still get some sick heals once you get horoscope. If you know a big party AOE is coming, pop horo, line up a helio to pop after the attack hits and backfill with Horoscope Helios. And then there's the now oGCD AOE heal from the new Collective Unconsciousness as well as Celestial Intersection as another quick heal with the bonus of either being a backup shield or regen depending on sect. By leveraging all of that with Light speed and the faster Lucid Dreaming I've pulled off some stupid recovery in dungeons.

So what are the chances in a future patch that it turns out that some of the tomestones the WoL looted came from an allagan warehouse for storing defective tomestones being recalled because they could explode?

Noct burst has always seemed more better for dungeons to me. Outside of the big stacked regen which took way too long to set up, I'd rather just have noct benefic ready to go. It's a lot of burst mitigation. Later on I'd shield prepull and switch to diurnal for sustain, but throughput is the need for now, not regens.

From what I remember of Allagan civilization in Azys Law and the Crystal Tower and stuff, I'm not sure the builders/sellers would care.

It's honestly not bad, you really get to know the dungeons and your class. I wish they offered more questing-based leveling options, but oh well.

It's still a lot of content but each segment of post-expansion content is quicker than the ARR stuff. Plus you will usually be around folks who know the fights well and it's easier to gear up, especially if you play with goons

Not quick, but Heavensward and Stormblood are both good. Much better than the 2.X stuff.

I was pretty nervous about changing jobs, expecting it to take nearly as long as it took to get my bard to 56 plowing through ARR into Heavensward. That took a week or so of playing and got really grueling.
Changed over to Conjurer last night and got it to 15 after some dinking around. Today, I have White Mage at 41 just running instant queue dungeons and then mixing it up with quests and job missions. I was doing leveling roulette but it looks like the XP is way better if you just pick your highest level dungeon after getting the roulette reward. Getting like 560% XP per kill in those dungeons is awesome and will have me at 50 and back into Heavensward MSQ in no time.

I've been leveling RDM through fate grinding to get all the vendors to rank 3. I have 4/6 zones at rank 3 and I'm level 77.

Pretty painless, honestly, especially since FATE parties are super easy to fill right now. Everyone wants to finish their ranks.
