I still have a decent number of Pokémon from back then kicking around, and did a bunch of trades w/ one account to get luckies. However, our most recent 08/2016 trade wasn’t lucky, so it seems like they’ve run out for us. Could I still get guaranteed luckies if I traded those 08/16 mons with someone else though? It only works until the player sending the 2016 mon has more than 10 lucky pokemon. Also iirc there was an issue where evolving a lucky mon registered the evolved form as another lucky and counted against the 10 cap for the guarantees. Not sure if that's still a thing or not.

There was that increased lucky event around the lunar new year; I feel like catches from 7/16 and 8/16 had like a 75% chance of being lucky. Not a terrible idea to hold on to those old catches in case of another event.

I had two open egg slots when I opened my 50k week gift but didnt get any 10k or 5k eggs (I got silver pinaps instead). An egg was hatching as I claimed it but that was opening a third slot, so I doubt that was an issue. Has that ever happened to anyone before?

About two days ago I got a shiny meditite from one of the quest rewards. Caught it, clicked on an alolan diglett, also shiny. First double shiny moment for me in game. Plus I already had a shiny alolan diglett so it's good trade fodder.

Find someone who got it during the event last year ( if you're in the Americas). It was catchable for a day or so, and hatch able later on, as well.

Lol, I just hit lucky friends with someone a continent away (MBerns). I knew it's random but I thought it was while hitting best friends, not after you have already opened a bunch of gifts as best friends.

Lucky Pokemon are traded pokemon that have - A guaranteed minimum 12/12/12 (or 80%) IV - 1/2 stardust cost for powerups Lucky Friends are "friends you are guaranteed to have your next trade with be lucky", and can only happen once you're best friends with someone. Everything that previously increased your friendship level now just has a chance to trigger lucky friends, once you do the trade you go back to normal best friends and it can trigger again later. I've known people who have triggered lucky, traded, and immediately from that trade trigger lucky again, but the odds of each interaction triggering lucky are fairly low.

I have 27 lucky friends now. I've made a bunch of lucky trades with this feature also but I can't remember who half of them are and I don't go to big raids that often where I see them.

They also have a shiny gold background. Lucky Friends just means your next trade with that person will definitely turn the traded Pokémon lucky. This can be really handy because most of the time lucky trades only happen randomly and not often.

A player who is tasked with raiding 5 gyms catching ten ice pokemon and catching a ditto is going to be quite frustrated waiting for chances to actually succeed. Then there is a guaranteed ditto quest in the special research questlines which is where I'm currently held up. It's not impossible or anything but it can be a big roadblock.

On the task where you have to evolve an eevee into Umbreon at night, will it count if you just evolve your eevee during the day using the name trick? It's the middle of summer here and I am straight-up in bed by the time the game goes to night time here at like 11pm because I'm old, and by the time I get up at 6am it's already light out again

But actually I *think* you have to name trick it to complete the task.
