How much am I crippling myself by not paying attention to IVs, saving all my evolves and eggs for lucky eggs and all the other min max stuff that I can engage in?

I'm level 21 and appear to be the only Blue in my region.

0%, IV's aren't important at all unless your focusing on doing raids with as few people as possible which usually isnt necessary.

This, but also: If you're getting so into things that you care about IVs, you'll also probably start caring about breakpoints, and 9/10 times a completely crap IV pokemon will be able to hit all the same breakpoints as a higher IV pokemon with an extra level or two.

Also also, if you're level 21, you really should just not care about IVs at all and go with "whatever your highest level pokemon is". Unlike the mainline games, your pokemon don't get more powerful if you hand raise them, there's no reason to not discard a level 5 in favor of a level 23.

Higher defense means more people needed to down it, but the restriction is more the time limit than number of pokemon. Basically, bring your glass cannons because they still probably won't die that fast.

Future Sight is better than Psychic but it's kind of a moot point with that base attack. Mewtwo's big draw was the high attack that let it punch fairly well even without STAB and a wide range of available movesets, at a point when there weren't a lot of Really Good pokemon for those movesets. Now that there's both cheaper-but-nearly-as-good and just-plain-better-with-STAB options (two of which coming from community days literally in the last couple of months) for every attack old Mewtwo had, even a normal-stat legacy Mewtwo raid would merely be a nice-to-have team filler for a lot of people.

This, though, this is going to be like when you come out of the christmas event with a bazillion santa hat pikachu for all it's actually worthwhile. I guess if you've got legacy mewtwo you still use it'll be a great candy source?

Spam friends for xp, nothing else even comes close. Saving your evolves is 2016 strats and woefully outdated, and if you're not at least always running that orange incubator no matter what you're losing out on stardust and the chance for a rare hatch for a hilariously small amount of xp. Don't hatch eggs for xp.

IVs rarely matter and even then don't make a big difference. You're not really crippling yourself at all if you've got the species and moveset right.

If it had lower stats overall then I'd be crossing my fingers, but this very intentionally seems like a "defense forme mewtwo" kind of deal, and we're on 0 for 2 on retroactive forme switching so far with Griatina and Deoxys.

The loss in 118 attack for a 96 increase in defense is just bad on bad for one of the most powerful glass cannons.

FAST: Psycho Cut, Confusion
CHARGE: Shadow Ball, Psychic, Hyper Beam, Focus Blast, Ice Beam, Thunderbolt, Flamethrower

Armored Mewtwo:
FAST: Iron Tail, Confusion
CHARGE: Future Sight, Dynamic Punch, Rock Slide, Earthquake

Psycho Cut built energy faster and armored can't even have that. Ice Beam on original Mewtwo is good because ice attackers generally have poo poo for life so it's another good glass cannon alternative. Armored Mewtwo's rock and ground type attacks are easily outclassed by Rhyperior/Tyranitar and Groudon.

Especially if you're still below level 30, you're not crippling yourself. I suggest that catching/keeping high level Pokemon should warrant 80% of your priority and IVs are 20% and only after you made some teams first no matter how lovely their IVs are. Someone in my Discord linked a thread of basic ideas for B-teams and how useful they are since Alolan spawns were out.

If you catch a useful Pokemon and its white ring to indicate level is high, evolve it and use it and don't worry about IVs.

The charged moves aren't there to be useful for players, they're there to troll the ever loving poo poo out of people trying to do the raid. The massive defense stats, plus coverage for almost every attacker you could throw at it is gonna be miserable for places where you can only muster up 5 or 6 people total to do a raid. It's just a big old gently caress you to the playerbase.

The charge moves on Armored Mewtwo say to me "We want this to be used in PVP." Except, as established, it can't fit in Great League. So they might be going for making it good in Ultra. Except it will still lose to Giratina (though Charm might check that pretty hard now). Actually, Fairies being used to beat Giratina may be why they gave Mewtwo Iron Tail (even though it's a crap move).

That's the best I can come up with. Maybe it'll be good in the Team Rocket battles.

Only Vaporeon/Jolteon/Flareon are random. You can't get Espeon or Umbreon if you just hit evolve on an Eevee. To get them, you must:

-Make Eevee your buddy
-Earn 2 buddy candy with it without ever switching to a different buddy
-Now, with the Eevee you got the 2 candy with as your buddy, when you hit evolve, if it is daytime in-game, you get Espeon, and if it's night, you get Umbreon.

Notice another task in that set is earning 2 buddy candy with Eevee. This is trying to lead you to the above, as obtuse and weird as the whole thing is.
