Shamelessly posting some shots I took of my dancer carelessly throwing her chakrams around in the crystarium. Is there a way to remove action effects in gpose? I managed by taking screenshots while slightly moving the joystick, but not sure if there's a better way.

Just dig around in the menu.

You can't buy ARR on steam and then grab shadowbringers when it's on sale on GMG for example, you have to get Shadowbringers also on Steam, and then any future expansions as well. Other than that, there shouldn't really be any issues.

Here’s some ShB Ishgard-related things I didn’t quite get: After some quest you’re morgana-style forced to go to bed and have a dream/flashback/flashforward of an attack in ishgard with a copy of the heavensward book about your exploits being prominent. Was this a flashback to a real event I forgot about? Something to show how much the people care for the Warrior of Light across worlds? Or a reference to something ongoing that might tie into the “rebuilding of ishgard” quests that have been announced? Just seemed out of the blue to me, and I don’t know if it’s referencing something I forgot or missed

It ties in to how the WoL was the beacon of hope that the survivors rallied around.

It's about the exarch picking the point in time from whence to pluck you

Basically it was (post MSQ and post MSQ dungeon spoilers) The Future Ironworks and the Exarch doing research on the Warrior of Light to figure out when the best time to grab them was. Remember by that point after your death its been 2-3 centuries of mad-max apocalypse world. You're mostly just a legend to them and the exact details are probably not well known to them.

I'm not sure what just happened in the MSQ, it's years behind but I know I'm not the only one playing through MSQ for the first time So wait, I'm not the warrior of light anymore? Did Midgardsormr just sever my link to Hydaelyn or did he just straight up murder her? that whole "all the crystals blink out" bit was a tad concerning in its ambiguity

Massive spoiler, don't click until you've finished ShB MSQ: Without getting to far into the why, your player character predates Hydaelyn and was tempered/split into 14 souls during the sundering. The crystals are representative of WoL's other selves from the aether-flooded shards destroyed in past calamities. Middy manages to lock them away for a bit. Tashilicious posted:I don't think this is correct There's a lot of theorycrafting that goes into it, but... (again, massive ShB end of MSQ spoilers) When a shard merges with the source, a massive flood of aether flows onto the source, which includes the souls of all of its former inhabitants. Emet-Selch's master plot is basically to get all the souls onto the Source, so he can sacrifice all the remaining incompletes to Zodiark for the rebirth of all the original inhabitants of the pre-sundered world. It's assumed that your counterparts on the 7 destroyed shards flooded onto the source during their respective calamities, and we manage to collect six of them during ARR during that MSQ. The crystal cutscenes are essentially representative of you reclaiming one of your own shards. It is explicitly stated in Shadowbringers cutscenes (when we have that sitdown conversation) that you've soaked up 7 shards, so it's not exactly something out of left field. Source, Fire, Ice, Water, Wind, Earth, Lighting. After ShB MSQ, you're at 8 out of 14. Based on plot conversations with Elidibus/Unukalhai/the 5th role quest NPC in ShB, Unukalhai is definitely associated with or might outright be your dark shard, while Ardbert is explicitly stated in Shadowbringers MSQ to be your light shard.. Might be stretching now, but there's a pretty good body of evidence supporting the theory that will probably be built on during the upcoming patches. Also... Level 80 role quests. When we kill the shades of the WoD's buddies, we retrieve their souls in the form of light-aspected crystals, just like the ones from ARR. Healer quest kinda beats you over the head with it.
