Rationally I know it's awful, but the return of the Undertaker at Judgement Day 2000 is something I go back to. The crowd is absolutely eating it up as DX take apart the Rock while the titantron shows the little girls talking and then Undertaker appears on a motorbike with shades and a bandana to a Kid Rock song and punches everyone and then they botch the finish of a 1 hour Iron Man match. People in the crowd are just constantly screaming.

i would really like to see a version of that with the original music because the network version nerfs the crowd reaction super badly

I always pop for Kane's debut at the first WWF Hell in a Cell match at In Your House: Badd Blood. It doesn't hurt that the match is incredibly fun with Shawn Michaels finally getting some comeuppance at the hands of Undertaker. Shawn sells the brutality of the Hell in the Cell gimmick so well plus I'm pretty impressed at him blading while in midair.

Michaels looked like he'd endured the beating of a lifetime by the time Kane showed up, it was actually really good booking in the sense that HBK got what he deserved but they found a way to enable his drama queen refusal to do jobs

Total fuckin' silence.
The DDP unmasking pop has been mentioned, but a less well-known one that I like from the start of the Invasion was when Booker interfered in the main event of King of the Ring and slammed Stone Cold through the Spanish announcers' table (breaking Austin's wrist in the process?). Heyman screams "THE WCW CHAMPION HAS JUST ATTACKED THE WWF CHAMPION!" and then Booker runs away through the crowd as everyone goes crazy. It was good.

He got a good pop the next night on Raw too, when he scissor-kicked Vince in MSG. Shane and Booker actually got to outsmart Vince, Austin and Angle on this occasion!

The start of the Invasion makes me sad. Everyone really wanted to see WWF vs WCW. :(

I just love how "matter of factly" DDP looks towards the camera. The Diamond Cutter is inevitable, so one should just accept it.

He picks up Kane for a regular piledriver and then drops down like a tombstone nearly breaking Kane's neck. It's during the late 97 early 98 red light beat downs Kane used to do.

I actually don't know anything about how Sid treated jobbers. And while Vader was sloppy and brutal for basically no reason, I've always heard that he broke down crying in the locker room after he thought he broke a jobber's back.

When did the New Generation era really start or end? It's easy to say that it's based on the WWE using the term in their marketing, I've got my own guess on this.

KOTR 93 with the departure of Hogan to Bret's heel turn in '97 where a proto-Attitude era started. Or maybe that time Bret said "bullshit" unbleeped on Raw a month or so earlier
