Does Charm affect the usefulness of Fairy types in PvE? Everything I see is focused in the PvP significance. A Clefairy nest popped up near my house, and I'm wondering if it's worth it to go crazy catching every one I see to get some strong Charm Clefables.

Charm's basically Fairy-type Confusion in PVE, so yes. Gardevoir and Togekiss are the good PVE mons with it.

Charm makes Gardevoir/Togekiss actually useful in raid situations, the huge caveat is "there's not much that's weak to fairy that wasn't already weak to something better anyways".

Well, Fairies live a LOT longer against dragon legendaries than fellow dragons do, and now that they can do reliable DPS they're fairly viable.

Thanks yall. I'm going to snag up a couple Clefables while they're easy to get then! Gardevoir and Togekiss are both a long way off for me at the moment.

Right, but Mamoswine exists. Most of the time, Fairy/Fairy Gardevoir is still at best “approximately on par” with Mamoswine, only really ahead if it’s Palkia with Hydro Cannon or a random dragon type with Solar Beam slapped on, and way behind if it’s a Dragon/Flying type like a lot of them are.

I fought my first Armored Mewtwo today and caught it, but that wasn't the real prize.

The real prize was A GIBLE that I hatched from a 10km egg. GIBLE! Omg I loving love Gible. Plus Garchomp is legit one of my favorite Pokemon ever. I love that big dopey land shark so much. Now to get right on getting my new buddy some walkies for candy!

I think we already have raid fatigue for armored mewtwo. Most of the frequent raiders have oodles of Mewtwo candy already, and it's not any good, to boot. I'm just in it for the rare candy.

Yeah, this is going to be a very long 20 days 5* raid wise. I don’t even have a mewtwo since I wasn’t playing whenever they were available. It’s unfortunate since the xp rewards are so big rn for them but they don’t give a useful Pokémon at all.

You can probably find plenty of people happy to trade one to you. I have 13 sitting in my bag.

On that note, the three fairy spirits are the first legendaries I’ve skipped. I give zero shits about them, even for the dex entries, which is the only reason I caught most of the legendaries and knowing they’ll likely show up in research again the future makes me care even less.

I'm actually curious if armored form counts as dex completion for the regular version, or if the exorbitant dust cost for "not in the pokedex yet" is still gonna apply.

Good question, it’s probably seen as the Alolan forms are but may still be considered a “special” trade.

I think trading for armored would just register the regular Mewtwo in your dex if you've never owned one. So it would be the big dust cost in that case, but if you already have regular Mewtwo, then armored Mewtwo wouldn't cost more since it's not a new entry but still be a special trade (one per day) because it's legendary. The armored form doesn't actually appear in Mewtwo's dex entry at all so it seems it's treated more like a "costume" as the hat Pikachu are rather than an actual alternate form like Deoxys/Alola/Giratina.

Catch everything, transfer anything with low CP, complete at least one quest a day, don't power up/evolve any pokemon until you are high level. The strongest/more useful mons are Machamp (the Machop evolution) and Tyranitar (the Larvitar evolution). Also, participate in every community day to get a pokemon with a unique move and a lot of candy to evolve a bunch.

So raids are pointless for people that don't have a roaming pack of friends? I guess you can't solo them right?

Tier 1/2s are pretty easy solos. Tier 3 you'll probably have to work on getting the right counters with the right move sets. Tier 4+ you'll need to find a group to take down

I started being able to take on 3 star solo around level 30 using CalcyIV recommended mons.

It’s also one of those situations where it snowballs. The more raids you do, the easier it is to fight raids solo with your good raid Pokémon.

It depends on the mon, too. Soloing Machamp for example is pretty much a cakewalk once you have enough strong Psychic and Flying attackers, since Machamp does not have great Defense at all. More bulky mons can be a bit more challenging.

poo poo, I've been playing since launch and certain Starmie movesets can still kick my rear end trying to solo it. Tier-3 is in the mostly viable solo category though. I love when Scyther is in tier-3 for the super easy rewards as long as you have a handful of level 30-ish Golem, which isn't hard with weather boost and alola golem these days.

Check Facebook and see if there is a discord server for your local area. All my actual friends who play are just far enough away to be inconvenient, but the local discord group has like 30 people who are hardcore into the game, and I can rely on them pretty often to be around for raids, esp. legendary Pokemon.

this is mine, for context. Look for one like this in your area.

Try statewide. I'm on the shoreline of Connecticut, obviously, but population numbers aren't that much bigger around here. Try looking on Reddit, try looking directly on discord. Most of the best Pokemon cannot be gotten without raiding, like the raid day coming up on Sunday for one of the best fire-types, Entei. He was available with research weekly boxes for a while, but it may not come back around again.

Edit: if you want to tell us what city this is, we(or just I) can try to help you find a group in your area.
