in my teenaged dreams tywin was on the parents committee at my school even though he didn't seem to have any children in attendance, and he arranged for me to pass all my subjects without having to attend any exams, because he was my friend and always called upon me to serve him at the annual parent-teacher barbecue. his office was in the school pool for some reason, i don't know how this worked because i never visited the office, i just remember that was his mailing address. anyway,

nankeen posted:everyone talk about your got dreams I almost posted this yesterday but got distracted: About a week ago I had this dream, and I only remember the end of it, and it's all a bit fuzzy, but: I was walking into this small-ish room with a long table, there were lots of people there, and this guard who was my friend was escorting my companion and I in, but this friend was acting really menacing and shoving me a bit. My companion and I ended up in the back corner of the room and sat on this window ledge, and I leaned back and had a look around outside because it was on the ground floor and I felt like some bad stuff was about to happen and we might need to get away. I don't know how I knew this was the case, but the context was that this was just after the events in the show finished, and we were expecting to receive some important people (King Bran the Broken?), but I had this feeling that the people hosting the event weren't happy with what had happened and were possibly planning to kill some people. I guess you had to be there, but there may have been more genuine tension in that dream than in all of season 8 The weird thing is that this thread had been quiet for a while and I don't think I'd read it for at least a week beforehand, so GoT hadn't even been in my mind for a week or so. Not thinking about the disappointment of GoT for a little while was great, why do I keep coming back here? nankeen posted:Bareass naked Danny DeVito stepping out of the fire and revealing himself as the mother of Danny DeVito triplets. I fell asleep during the finale and my mind ended up writing its own version of the ending. I don't remember the details too clearly, but it involved the Lannister twins surviving the events of the story and just sorta hanging around afterwards, and for some reason it also involved them sharing a vacation home with my family, which was more of an awkward situation than anything. The one thing I remember clearly is that it was revealed that Tywin was an incredibly gay teenager, and the rumors about him almost single-handedly destroyed the Lannister name. This was the main motivation for him growing into a ruthless man who expects everyone to sacrifice things like love for the sake of family. I now consider this canon.

"Bran the Broken" was just the writers half-remembering "Unbowed, unbent, unbroken" and then lazily recycling it like so many other catchphrases associated with the show were recycled this season

I have a feeling GRRM revealed that would be Bran's historical nickname, not expecting them to just have Tyrion name him that instantly lol

The bit in Lethal Weapon 5(?) where he's plowing the whoooore would be an easy swap for Khal Drogo and Dany's wedding night scene. DeVito naked and crawling out of a couch but paste him into the funeral pyre? The Hound (who is DeVito) knocks off the Mountain's helmet to reveal DeVito... but he's in full Penguin makeup and spitting up black oil.

Bran the Unbroken would have been a cool name. It could show that throughout the entire series and everything he's been through, he was able to rise to the situation and earn enough of their trust that they would elect him ruler of [most of] their kingdoms. But nope Bran the Broken cuz he fell off a big thing in the first episode Edit: Been thinking of other official names Bran the Busted Bran Bran the Wheelchair Man Wheels Bran of Fractured Spine sweet thursday fucked around with this message at 18:10 on Jul 15, 2019 |

The Lannisters except Tyrion are gone, Dorne is in chaos, Gendry is a new lord who would just go with the flow, and High Garden has no ruler,

Also, you know, Dany promising to let the Iron Islands be independent and Asha/Yara just kind of shrugging and being like "yo, we loved our queen, what the gently caress, but also I sort of forgot we should be independent too....like, that was the whole point in me joining in an open rebellion against my own countrymen."
