That's quite common here, and they do seem to tap both screens. I don't know how they do it though, and it seems like only some phones support it. Oh great, so now we have to cast a Masterful Expecto Patronum for firing a max power Hurricane during PvP? I was hoping they wouldn't go there, I hate it and think it makes PvP less accessible. Leave the wand waving in that other game.

It's a pretty big update, so the data for the Rocket stuff is probably there, but they don't appear to have started yet. They'll probably start once it's a forced update (which now that it's up on both stores, is probably a day or two away).

It's also not Team Rocket, it's Team GO Rocket. Team Rocket operates in the Kanto region, Rainbow Rocket came from another dimension to Ultra Sun/Ultra Moon, and Go Rocket are another subsidiary that has moved to Pokemon Go's world.

Cannot wait to fight GOvanni Starting to get so tempted to switch from team blue to something else. My area is full of blues, which would be nice if that didn't mean that most gyms aren't constantly blue and full, and everyone is in the local group so that I couldn't just flip the two differently colored gyms without bringing great shame upon myself and my family. One thing no one tells you about joining your local PoGo nerd group is that it basically means you cannot be an rear end in a top hat and just flip the entire area your color anymore. But seriously, the gym close to my house has been held for like six days now by my team with no slot open for me. tempted to spend the money on just going red or yellow and flipping every gym in this place, Fake edit: Just checked. Someone actually seemed to have taken over that gym at some point. Because it's blue but with only three slots filled. Too bad it won't be like that when I am off work I bet

Just make another account on a throwaway email (or PTC) and just shave gyms yourself. Just play it enough to get a full team of 6 legendaries and they should be strong enough to shave out even 1 player that's been in a gym for more than 2 hours. I know it sucks waiting 10 minutes before being able to put one in yourself and that someone might take the spot before you can, but it's better than not getting any coins at all every day. Plus if your town is truly full of Mystic, you shaving is probably doing some people a favor when no other team is knocking them out for them to collect their money. Hell, you having a red/yellow alt can help bump yourself out if no one is coming by to kick yours out after the 8 hours and 20 minutes needed to get 50 coins are up.

Pretty sure they just mean you’ll be ostracized if you set out to clearcut entire areas and eject people regardless of how long they’ve been in the gym. Around here we normally allow other players to get their full 50 coins in a gym before kicking them out, mainly on the basis that we all work together for raids and there aren’t that many of us.

Yeah, my group has a policy to let people stay in the gym for 8 hours and there is at least a weekly thing of "Why did X toss me out early?!". It's a nice idea on paper since obviously everyone wants their 50 coins and it's better than the nearby town where you will get kicked out of several gyms 10 mins after jumping in, even when you leave one gym of each color (and with open slots) open for the other teams. Though I suppose that policy isn't really the problem here, it's more that the red and yellow players seem to be content only having one gym each for themselves. Basically, we need more people fighting and taking over gyms dangit Them non-blues got no fighting spirit

Oh hey, the new update’s appraisal system also includes a method to search by IVs. The search terms are: 1*: Brings up anything with IVs at or below 48.9% 2*: 51.1% to 64.4% 3*: 82.2% to 87.8% 4*: Shows any Pokémon with perfect IVs The 4* search is a good one to run if you haven’t been religiously checking everything. On top of my perfect Celebi, I also found a perfect... Hitmontop. Cool.

I was kinda surprised to find out I only had two pokemon with perfect IVs, then again I never cared in the first place, but I figured I'd have at least a few more. But man, this new appraisal system is so much better that I might find myself actually checking IVs now.

I had a perfect Miltank and Luvdisc, apparently!  One minor complaint I have is that when you're swiping left/right and looking at different appraisals, the text box will change in size and it's a little hard to follow the IV meters as they bounce up and down. I think they should have a fixed text box size to make it easier to read.
