My wife bought me the Galaxy Explorer off eBay because I talked about getting to build it growing up at two different relatives’ who both inexplicably had it. A very nostalgic build.

If/when I have to liquidate all my sets, it will be the last one I sell. Because I won't sell it.

Some of the Walmarts near me in central texas had a few sets on deep discount, I picked up a bunch of the creator 3 in 1 modular skate shops and the surfer vans which I think were down to 25 and 20 respectively. All the mining-related city stuff was really discounted. I saw the rural police station set with the mountain lion and net launcher for 40% off. Was debating on picking up a few of those but the parts count isn't that great, it seems more like a gimmick/specialty piece/minifig set vs a bulk parts buy. I mentioned to someone that's a good buy at the price compared to the other expensive lego sets and a few parents in the aisle perked up and wandered over and picked up most of the sets within a few minutes. Probably going to check the walmart near the office tomorrow to see if there's any more creator sets to pick up. Big K of Justice fucked around with this message at 10:04 on Jul 17, 2019 |

If you’re in the mid-west might want to check out Meijer stores as they look to be blowing out some sets. The one I stopped in, Mason, OH, was blowing out most Overwatch sets at 50% off., the 2 robot set was only about 30% off. Looked like some City, Star Wars and Friends sets were also on clearance .

poo poo loads of future sets leaked on instagram (theme, name, part count mainly). No good way to link it, but just search legoleaks. Interesting to me is, more speed champs, 10 hidden side sets, more Harry Potter, Jurassic World. It's an extensive leak.

(not including the 2 coming out soon.) They have a ton of characters to work with, but I'm curious to see what sorts of things they do for the set pieces / extra elements.

I just finished a month long vacation in the rockies, live in Chicago. As I drove back east right about the time I hit the middle of north dakota I ran into the wall of humidity and every nerve in my body was telling me to do a 180 and go back to the mountains. I loving hate the midwest.

Wonder what those 14 leaf sets are. Place holder for the Star Wars movie sets or something actually to do with leaves, various foliage and tree sets to push their plants from plants thing? Idk. Seems like a placeholder but what needs 14 sets unless it’s like their friends sets for the year or w/e.

Stuff for Episode IX uses the city code names, like ‘Bruges Battle Pack’ is likely a Knights of Ren set and ‘Oslo Microfighter’ is Kylo with his new TIE.

I like that Lego is pissing off reviewers by selling the treehouse set before lifting their embargo on the press release and reviews. Guess that's their revenge for all the leaks.

If it's deliberate revenge then its loving stupid. No, like all multi-billion dollar companies with international operations the reality is that the leaks and the early releases are just a mistake from someone on the very long ladder to the top, and honestly, someone even only a few rungs above that person won't give a poo poo about any of it.

If someone buys it in the store Lego can't do poo poo about it anyways. Really would only apply to people who are being sent the set for review purposes.

The Hidden Side Train has an ez railer. Dang almost worth it just for that. Also new wheel assemblies with independent wheels that have some up-down travel. That might be a blessing for MOC trains on tight rear end lego turns.

The bus is super interesting because it's the first time those fender pieces have shown up in yellow. Which is attractive to me because you can now do a yellow color swap with the VW beetle. (two tone yellow/white beetles are THE BEST)

Ohio has a nice divide of glacial erosion in the Northeast, Appalachian foothills in the Southeast and mostly flat plains in the West. There’s only one old growth forest left (until frackers finally get the mineral rights). The highways through Indiana are super boring, though. There’s surprisingly little corn and soy growing this year due to a super-wet spring and market disruptions from tariffs. But hey, someone donated a bunch of old bricks to my workplace and we now now have classic Space and Pirates pieces and a few of the non-articulated minifigs that kids don’t recognize.
