At my current position I replaced another bio stats dude. At first colleagues kept telling me how much easier I was to work with, and when I asked if the old guy was a jerk they said "no he was super nice and smart, he was just Scottish and nobody knew what the gently caress he was saying".

I have family in Southern Louisiana and Southern Mississippi and the difference between those dialects is pretty interesting One sounds like that obnoxious Midwest accent with a southern twang, the other just sounds like a standard Deep South accent with a mouthful of Skoal
