The news article mentions there was some back and forth before the kick + swerve actually happened so I'm going to guess the former. In fact the swerve starts so soon it looks planned rather than a reaction to the kick specifically.

He'd still be wrong. The kick startled the driver but didn't cause him to swerve off course.

It isn't physically possible for what the motorcyclist did to knock the car around. Here is what happens when a motorcyclist kicks a car but the driver just keeps driving. Notice that the car barely tilts on its suspension, maybe by like half an inch:

Obviously the driver jerked the steering wheel when he heard the noise of the kick. If hearing a loud noise while driving causes you to startle and lose control of your car, you are an incompetent driver and should not have a license. You have to be able to handle things like horns or sirens or potholes or blowouts without making the situation worse.

So that means the driver either deliberately attempted to murder the motorcyclist, or they were incompetent. Motorcyclist was a douchebag but not the cause of that accident.

I don't think anyone here is debating whether or not the swerve was intentional. It's fairly clear from the video that it was. But I believe you are level headed enough to know that what is seen as just in the eyes of a court is not always right, especially when it comes to morally questionable attorneys arguing on the preponderance of evidence. Whatever caused the confrontation, the rider kicking the door panel was intentional as well and most likely viewed as an act of aggression, not defense. He chose to escalate the situation. You think he regrets that decision now? Also, please don't misconstrue this fact as me agreeing that the reaction of the driver was warranted. It wasn't. I stated such in my prior post that it was a shame that the driver wasn't also found guilty of a crime. Unfortunately, the court saw to rule in another manner.

Regardless of who started it, had the rider disengaged and got the gently caress away from the crazy sedan none of this would have likely happened. Instead, we are left with the result that a general public will eat up and form opinions on its basis: A crazy rider kicks a car (most I bet even think unprovoked) that causes a two car collision and leaves a person that wasn't initially involved injured.

As much as I want to side with motorcyclists in these situations, I won't. I've known riders personally that have described situations, and heard it told time and time again in various motorcycle forums, dealing with riders taking their own retribution out on drivers in automobiles because of personal slights and an overbearing want to take the law of the road into their own hands. None of that behavior benefits us as motorcyclists in any general regard, and makes it even more difficult to sway opinions of non-motorcyclists after poo poo like this happens. Personally it paints the exact opposite picture I'd want.

I tend not to take drivers doing dumb poo poo against me personally. Most are honest, if not ignorant, mistakes. A motorcyclist getting upset and participating in some road rage dick waving contest will just breed more self-righteous attitudes and contempt. I'd rather deal with someone who hasn't had a prior experience with a douche bag biker kicking in their door panels.

All this reads as another indictment of your completely hosed justice system, not of kicking cars which is in fact cool and good when they deserve it.

The last three mechanics failed to diagnose the source of the weird hissing noise. Well, they may have correctly diagnosed it, but none of them survived to tell anyone.

Now I think about it, is that just the owner of the bike, who happens to know how to deal with cobras, or a specialist in removing cobras from motorbikes that the owner took their bike to? Given it's India either possibility seems likely.

Even ATGATT wasn't going to help with that, that was brutal. Highways like that are weird to me, you're almost doing freeway speeds but there's cross traffic? 99% of my rides are either freeway or slow surface streets.

I wonder if she was originally in the same lane as the guy, but behind him before she came around. At first watch it seems she gives plenty of room. But on subsequent viewing it seems she wasn't in the lane parallel so maybe she just came into the lane as she comes into frame. If I'm wrong guy is a major d-bag.

Sagebrush
Feb 26, 2012

Even if she did cut close to him when pulling into the right lane, he's obviously the d-bag because he chased her down and got so mad about the miniscule infraction that he crammed it into the back of some random person's car.

Also lol @ field armor over a t-shirt and you can see his shoes lying on the sidewalk after he puts his helmet down

Well don't you know I'm caught in a trap?

I really enjoy his complete inability to focus on the loving road or traffic around him for more than a couple seconds, even in the beginning before he wads his bike into a car trying to totally own the person who committed the atrocity of coming kinda close to him.
