I enjoy the religious bit of the game but find that if I just ignore religion completely it's an even better game. Not having to spend hours sending apostles back and forth really stops the game dragging a lot, it's a shame there's not a better way. And then Rock Bands just ramp it up to the next level, again nice concept but horrible in the actual game.

At least the Rock Bands contribute towards cultural victory, which can be obtained by anyone and building passive resistance is something that is rather easy and otherwise beneficial to do. Spreading someone else's religion rarely is. It would be million times more tolerable if you could, for example, adopt a policy which allows you to destroy religious units with military without being in war (for balance, without causing the religion-bomb, or costing gold to do so, giving CB, making it impossible to have trade routes to nations which have founded religion, etc...). There is a policy card that gives a city +50% science if it has 10 pop and +50% if the science district have at least a +4 adjacency bonus right? And Korea's unique district has +4 by default... Are there any other yellow cards that are always good to run? The double harbor adjacency if you have them in a lot of cities with shipyards for the extra production? I just picked up R&F and I've been liking the trade route policies since you can wind up with some dank international routes when you combine culture/science/economic alliance bonuses with two or three trade cards that add further boosts to each route. It also plays the music of the Civs you're playing against too. I had Scotland in my game and my husband, who is Scottish, asked my why I had 'Scotland the Brave' blaring from my PC. I really wish they'd chosen something different for Australia though, Waltzing Matilda gets old fast, could we not have had 'You're the Voice' instead? eta: My next roll of the Play Now button has given me the Khmer civ. Sounds interesting and now I get to be the religious spammer trying to convert everyone and incite religious wars. Helith fucked around with this message at 04:39 on Jul 16, 2019 |

Folks who use PYDT, have yall ever had a game get stuck right after someone surrenders? In the Goon Game on the Inner Sea, the player after me in turn order just surrendered. Now when I do my turn, save and submit it, the save shows as being for him, and PYDT refuses to accept it. Already tried deleting/redownloading the turn multiple times.

Ive playing my first game of Civ 6, with Rise and Fall, and the game is good? Ive liked all the new mechanics except maybe the new culture system. Civ 5 trees were greatly unbalanced but it forced each civ to choose a different path, now is just like tech, you just research everything and with the cards you can just use whatever fits what you want at any moment. Is not a bad system, but I think in Civ 5 each civ ended up having more variety because of the different culture trees they picked. And I miss ideologies too, not only they also promoted variety, they promoted late game affinities and enemies that made the game more interesting Ages are pretty cool and districts makes the best city building of any Civ ever, imo, although Im still pretty lost on that (what district is worthy building and where) , and I often dont understand why cant I build a wonder even though it seems, by the description, that I have tiles that fits the requirements I still cant judge the AI, though, Im playing on prince and I havent fought any wars (and I dont intend to now) And the interface is pretty but is really lacking in information, what mods are you people using to address that? This is now a Civ 5 vox populi thread. Distress sucks and making it a limiting factor that will always gently caress you with limited ways to counteract it sucks again.

I've been playing vox populi again and although distress is the hardest of the unhappiness sources to combat, it's pretty easy once you've set up some really high yield tiles and got some key buildings in, and you can make up for it with luxuries anyway. In my current game i barely even have any distress now that I'm in the medieval era... it was only really a problem in the ancient and classical. Have so much spare happiness I've got specialists coming out of my arse

I dont get it Why cant I bulid the Oxford in this city? Description says it need to be on a plains tile, next to a campus And I do have a plains tile next to the campus But the wonder is grayed out, tootip says I have no suitable tiles. What gives? Is because of the wheat? Im pretty sure I built other wonders in tiles that had resourses too
