FAT32 SHAMER posted:This new generation of Mazda are very good, I really like mine From what I've seen, I really like that part. The entire system - software and hardware - seemed so sensibly designed that it gave me confidence in the rest of the car. Like, the menus are all intuitive and easy to navigate through. The system doesn't look like it's crushed under its load like in other cars. The display is placed directly under the sight line so you don't have to look away from the road. Thereby, it's also placed out of arm's reach, doesn't use touch controls, and instead gets tactile buttons. Because it sits recessed in the dashboard as opposed to on top of it, it's horizontal rather than square or vertical, and uses the space more efficiently. It all gave the impression that the people who made it knew what they were doing.

Kind of reminds me of the Aventador/AMG GT console layout (crazy angle vs more flat) but with a weird sectioned thing walling off the passenger. It's like a caricature of the C7's similar little handle that started to section off the driver from the passenger. It looks a bit odd to me still but maybe it'll grow on me. I also don't like the steering wheel shape or the spoiler, but overall it's a pretty ok looking car. At first I thought it looked like a car from GTA like a generic supercar but it's already grown on me a bit. E: That angle doesn't do it any favors really either. Despite the bad colors here you can get a better idea of how it looks. Suburban Dad fucked around with this message at 12:19 on Jul 19, 2019 |

You know how stylists are forever saying the US has no taste? That interior isn't helping things. That said, the exterior isn't bad, gets rid of those awful quad trumpets and it's supposedly gonna be 'cheap' for what will likely be a pretty nice car.

I went to the mile hi nationals once and that was enough. It was awesome, but racing in general doesn't really do anything for me (I know, sacrilege in here). I live 6 miles away and I hear that poo poo at my house. It's real fuckin loud. Nobody warned me so we ended up just jamming our fingers in our ears on each pass. Better than nothing but didn't feel like it. And do not be tempted to run down and grab a blown supercharger belt, they are HOT. I think they fail due to temperature. Because of the altitude everyone cranks up the boost pressure to the max and busted belts are common. The blower alone draws about 800HP from what I understand. The year I went they had a track staff member down there yelling at people who tried to go get one.

Bloodwork just came back. A1c is 5.5, and my main BP med has officially been cut in half. Probably get off of the other one (beta blocker) soon; even with taking a half dose of the lisinopril for the past couple of weeks, my BP was all of 110/60 in the office. I'm down to once a day on one of the beetus meds too. Amazing what a little exercise can do.

Bleh, I interviewed for a position at one of the larger Universities here this morning, and it was my second choice of options but the first option ghosted me. I didn't really get great vibes off the place and couldn't see myself working well long-term with the team who I interviewed with. Just not excited at all for it. Of course they were the one employer to offer me a position at all recently, and within half the day.

The Citroen Centenary is this weekend at Ferté-Vidame which isn't too far from Paris. Come check it out, I just got to my hotel and went to a nearby restaurant in a random little town and this was my view of the main square: I've seen more rare old Citroens in the last half hour than in the last fifteen years

Even at say $75k + TTL, a z51 Vette stands to be a hell of a performance car for the money ... Granted we don’t have any performance tests etc. to look at yet, but c’mon. Is there another mid-engine car under $100k even remotely close in theoretical performance? All I can come up with for the same money/segment are 4 cylinder 300hp 718s or even worse an Alfa Romeo 4c (are they even made still?)Ether Frenzy posted:With that interior styling I won't be shocked to learn that is the price point for the "Corvette Berlinetta", a 4 cylinder model, and it only has 3 buttons on the meter-of-buttons strip of 45 buttons the $220k ZR-1 gets.
