I really think there’s a good chance that the show as we know it is gonna be over after this week. And that absolutely sucks. I feel bad for Dan though. I’m sure him and Papi would both be fine blowing it all up but it’s a lot of pressure knowing how much you and the job means to the rest of the show and all of the people connected to the Lebatard network. If it’s all over though man what a run.

that's what I don't get. the lebtard and friends just started they got more content on the network and they never once thought Dan might say something that espn doesn't want to air? Didn't they all just sign big rear end contracts? They arnt going anywhere.

ESPN absolutely doesn't want to make this a thing. I think they know that unlike a huge swath of their talent, Dan could leave and actually bring people (listeners and staff) with him. There numbers are too good in key demographics.

I think the only real question is if Dan will be on tommorws show. I love everyone on it but without Dan at the helm the show is a little hard to listen to.

Yeah I don't even listen to the show if Dan's gone. I get through it when Stu is out but when Dan is out it's a totally different show. October is gonna be rough (if the show continues as is)

I feel like this is going to blow over. Pittaro will probably tell him that if he needs to get angry about Trump once a year it's fine but don't go attacking ESPN policies and being publicly insubordinate (remember with Simmons it wasn't that he just called the NFL liars but that he challenged ESPN directly about it). Le Batard will realize that the show is really soaring right now and he can tolerate not criticizing ESPN directly if he's able to do everything else. I think on some level his desire to criticize ESPN's bullshit policies was also grounded in the general frustration they feel about ESPN shutting down their fun and preventing them from building on their silly ideas so if they can reach some common ground on that things will go back to normal. From ESPN's perspective, the show must be making them tons of money on podcast, it's the most listened to sports show on radio and it's become a fantastic platform to groom and humanize a lot of their other now-valuable personalities. Too much at stake for both sides for them to gently caress it up over something that lasted less than 30 seconds. Lastly, Congratulations J-Girl cause you're.....FlyGirl, you're still a FlyGirl

Using the Magic Crate of Content to break up Dan's Serious Moments is a gimmick I don't get tired of though. I would hope the talks mean LeBatard can iron things out with ESPN, I do think the bigger issue is saying that ESPN is too cowardly than anything particularly about Trump in this case. I wish they'd realize how much they'd make if they let Dan have a bit more leash every once in a while, but I also don't exactly disagree so hardly the best judge of things.
