Remember Eglamore hated Annie at first, because of the whole history with her parents. But they did seem to reconcile once she started her Medium practice and he was responsible for her protection. Given all the changes in both of their lives this might have collapsed a bit. And this is Court Annie, who may have had a bad experience with him that we haven't seen yet. And on top of that she knows about his relationship with Surma, which essentially pits him against Tony. So he's an overprotective teacher who used to be with her mom and hates her dad, it makes sense that she's not his biggest fan.
