I want to teach my fiancee how to play but I also don't want to scare her away with really complex mechanics. I remember I learned on an elf deck back in 2007 or so that was just "play a shitload of elves real fast" and it avoided you needing to know anything other than "this is how you play creatures" I know it's already been answered, but I taught my fiancee using the elves vs inventors duel deck. I started out with her only using the elves deck ("Turn dudes sideways and you'll probably win"), and when she had a slightly better grasp on basic mechanics we switched decks so she could get a better understanding of using artifacts and more than one color in a deck. She also watched/listened to a bunch of youtube vids, if you want some recommendations on those I have a bunch.

My local store is paying me in credit to sort through stacks and stacks of cards they've bought but never put up for sale for some reason. So far I've sorted about 4000 cards in 5 hours. Current highlights of why the hell didn't these go immediately in the case as soon as he bought them are about a dozen new Ravnica shocklands, 4 Mirroden check lands, a foil Surgical Extraction and a few dozen cards worth more then $10. I should have asked for a percentage.

Steve said they were dumb cards for stupid babies so I bought a small stack for a nickel a pop out of a local bulk bin at the flea market where I get most of my misprints because ppl are bad at magic and love dumb, bad cards but I have been busy lately and missed whatever bad batch of rye bread caused any kind of run on these two cards anywhere. Maybe it's just some dipshit on EBay buying one for $6 or something?

I am loving in love with Arena. I got through the Mono red and Mono green master to get the Gruul deck. Now I'm just having so much loving fun playing Gruul. Riot is a way better mechanic than Bloodthirst. I got 4 Rhythm of the Wilds and my god having double Riot is OP as gently caress. There are these 3/3 goblins that cost 1GR and with double riot I was able to start making GBS threads out 5/5's on Turn 4. The dude I was playing just conceded.
