I'd also argue that Disney doesn't exude any American culture at all unlike Simpsons or King of the Hill. While anime is distinctly Japanese in culture. Disney channels like 95% European centric culture up until the 80s or so and much still after that. Disney's cultural influence was European and then international.

It's a funny juxtaposition that the Japanese, renown for their excellent animation have the same sort of conversations many anime fans here in the US have about their work the dub vs. the sub.

The egg trick is uh.... Neat I guess but the "bigger than before" doesn't seem true or even related to what's being done? Looks like it turned an egg into a sort of rubber ball which is neat until it rots and falls apart I guess.

I mean I'd eat an acid-boiled egg that spent a day in maple syrup. Probably not after a day in probably not food-intended dye, though.

I'm not sure why Jerry's fallen out of fashion lately, but Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee is one of my favorite short Netflix series. They're small enough that I can squeeze them in on my lunch breaks while I eat, and usually good for a few laughs.

NatasDog posted:Was going to post this too, it's got to be in my top 5 favorite episodes. There's a few reasons: He started dating his wife when she was like 17 and he was in his late 30's He whines about PC culture on college campuses making it hard for him as comedian despite the fact that he has never worked blue, basically using it as an excuse to explain the fact that young people find him about as funny as hearing the death rattle of your only child He did a reddit AMA a while ago, and holy gently caress was he rude. A while after, I brought up this fact, and a poster in Cinema Discusso said that when Jerry stayed at the hotel the goon worked at, he was insanely rude to staff and didn't tip on anything despite being staggeringly rich.
