Back when I was a tram conductor, I browsed flashback a bit to see how the fake ticket apps works and how I could see through them. I also occasionally bumped into those current crimes threads and the unwavering racism that just kept on coming regardless of context really soured my mood. I distinctly remember feeling much better once I decided to stop going there. gently caress that site.

Back in the day it was the place for edgy teenagers. But then 90% of threads would go like this "Hey how do I fix a broken lamp?" "You know you can grind up and snort lamps if you want to get high" "Lamps are a jewish conspiracy" It got so bad that they had to make a separate forum to store all the arguments about jewish conspiracies. Because the regular conspiracy theorists got tired of all the nazis hijacking their wholesome "aliens did 9/11" levels of conspiracy theory threads. And then they had to close that forum because it was overflowing with all the threads the nazis hijacked on all the other sub forums and the nazis resented the idea that they got accused of spreading "conspiracy theories" when what they said was true. So the nazis got released back into the wild again.

hosed up but true. I’ve had to venture on there for answers to little random questions, and yeah I found out that it’s basically a big sociopathic Facebook news comment thread...but I’ve also found what I needed, answerwise. No one exactly informs immigrants on a ton of things here, a lot of us have to sort of venture out on our own and hope it isn’t hosed. Sweden is quite closed off if you aren’t Swedish (even if you speak Swedish), so we rely on what we can and tell each other.

I think they were a decent resource for which areas that are nice to live in the bigger cities. One just have to mentally translate all the racism into usable information (brown neighbors = fine, constant bike thefts, mugging and drug dealing = not so much).

Yes because joining a de facto permanent alliance with the US, Poland, Turkey, Hungary and Italy is totes joining out of democratic principles. I say this as someone who is not allowed to visit Russia; NATO is as bad or worse than Russia.

We can even have a deal with NATO for mutual defense if need be, but that doesn't need to include monetary support and foreign wars once we have an actual bargaining position. We totally should have gone with a Nordic alliance in the late 1940s. Joint Swedish-Norwegian nuclear program, etc. Would have been sweet. Could have worked much like a bigger Sweden in postwar global politics, neutral as gently caress and waggling the finger of morality at both superpowers while at the same time obviously friendlier to the western democracies.
