After carefully weighing out my options, I have decided to select Colin White to be my 2nd line RW. He showed remarkable improvement this season on the worst team in the league, so he ought to be a solid top 6 producer moving forward.

Nyquist - Monahan - Wheeler
x - Trocheck - White

Hedman - Petry
x - Miller

Dustin Brown is not as washed up as he looked a few years ago, and in fact has a surprisingly high point production rate over the past two years. Add that to his all-around solid underlying possession metrics and general pest behavior and he's a perfect alternate captain.

After doing some scrambling this is what I'm rolling with atm. Subject to change.

Perron - Giroux - Horvat (Giroux takes faceoffs, Horvat takes zone responsibilities)
Keller - Getzlaf - Brown

Dahlin - Pesce
McDonagh - X

Mr. stab is at a festival this weekend. His instructions for me:

- Select Marc-Edouard Vlasic with his first choice
- Gaze glamorously at his defense core because who the gently caress needs to pay attention to the cap anyway:

Carlson-Byfuglien
Hanifin-Vlasic

We've made 270 picks and counting in roughly 2 weeks and everybody's still around. At this rate we'll finish at the end of August. I think we're fine to leave the window as 2 hours throughout.

We always shift to one-hour windows towards the end when the available talent starts mirroring each other and we all just want to finish. Round 12 is too early for that but we'll keep tabs on it.

6 hours of driving sucks

Edler is old. His cap hit kind of sucks but I've got the space for it and 2 years isn't terrible. He's also pretty good at putting up points and when he's paired with someone who can cover for his (admittedly only occasional) bonehead drop-passes to no-one or pinches when he really shouldn't.

The biggest problem for him is staying healthy. I'm gonna need a solid 70+ games out of him and that might not be doable. But if he can, then he's still a legit top-line defenseman

Craig Smith is cool and good despite his somewhat advanced age and at this point in the draft he is a great choice.
