I never really knew why I was keeping certain pokemon but then I finally got a sparring partner but atm he only has great league pokemon so suddenly all the pokemon I was keeping around in case I had to power up for an unlikely type-advantage or something are super useful and I enjoy fielding diverse teams with lots of new charged-moves for me to learn how to swipe upon.

How well will a giant pile of Gardavoir's do against RayRay? It's that or making a dozen glaceons as my only options in the near future.

For me, it's predominantly Pokemon with legacy moves; especially raid day legacy Pokemon like Lick Gengar and Sky Attack Moltres. There are also less useful stuff like costume Pokemon (freaking hat Pikachus :argh:), regionals, and Unowns. All to potentially trade away yet I hardly make the effort to find people to trade with and a lot of my friends that I play with don't have anything terribly valuable.

I also attempted to maintain a living 'Dex keeping high stat Pokemon but I recently had to cut that back and aggressively cull my collection in order make ample room for GoFest.

Probably not likely. More likely due to the go rocket stuff and people bitching about it on Twitter and Reddit.

Probably a bit moveset dependent. Ray's got a lot of stuff (1/2 fast and 2/3 charge moves) that will be doing neutral damage to Gardevoir, who is notoriously squishy. You'd probably have trouble short-manning a Ray with Gard's, but in a decently sized group you'd probably do fine, especially with Charm.

Glaceon will probably put out a bit more damage, since it's getting double super effective damage. Just watch out for Ancient Power.

High level, low IV pokemon can be worth holding onto for best friend/lucky trades. Legendaries, same, but also can be worthwhile to just hold onto until a transfer candy bonus event. And that’s just for pve/raid useful pokemon, great league probably gets a bit ridiculous

Why, you can get both during weekly research tasks and they rotate them in raids every three months or so anyhow

By the numbers, a L30 glaceon vs a Ray with ancient power will actually have better TDO than vs. the other movesets (barely). It boils down to roughly 37-40% damage done across the board for a team of 6 Glaceon.

Gardevoir, on the other hand, tops out at 39% damage done in the best case scenario (vs Dragon Tail/Outrage) and clocks in at a miserable 22% vs Air Slash/Aerial Ace.

So yeah barring any dramatic changes, either “armored rayquaza” with totally different stats/moveset or a ridiculously good CD move for Gard, a glaceon is far better than gardevoir (even before the comparatively much cheaper acquirability)

I was on an Evee nest for a while and got kind of carried away evolving Glaceons, so on my main I can currently do... 63% of a Rayquaza's hp with the friend bonus.

Having it at the next tier five would help justify the twenty slots they're currently taking up in storage people like me are clearly the reason the limits getting increased).

With 2 teams of 0% IV level 30 glaceon, unfavorable weather (windy, boosted air/dragon attacks), no dodging, and no friend bonus, you’ll end up with an average of 9-12 dead glaceon and 57% damage done at the 295-300 second mark. (This assumes the optimal Frost Beath and Avalanche moveset; Frost Breath vs Ice Shard for fast attack doesn’t make a ton of difference but Avalanche vs Ice Beam is a significant damage difference)

If you change nothing but the friend bonus (since I assume you want to go duo with a buddy), raiding with a best friend increases that to 66%.

Im at ultra friend with my wife, and yea we don’t have a raid group at all. We should be able to swing hopefully 7-9 glaceon each within a week and hopefully be able to eek out the last damage with whatever gardavoirs we make on Saturday. Is there a website you run these calcs on? I have pokegenie on my phone but it isnt very conducive to theory crafting potential teams.
