I mean at age 31 today I would’ve been between 8-14 when it was good, I wouldn’t have wasted my valuable TV on that when there were 4-5 syndicated episodes of the Simpsons to jump between!

Don't worry I'm still in my 20s, watched frasier for the first time at 26, and am also insufferable There is no such thing as "too young for frasier." It moved past the weird, macho sexism that cheers had in the 80s/90s and moved on to the resigned "it sucks but what can ya do but laugh" sexism of the 90s/00s. Besides which Niles' and Frasiers' posh apartments and lifestyles are even more comically exaggerated in this day and age when nobody can afford anything The hardest part for younger folks, I assume, is understanding the class dynamics at play when it comes to things like car/cell phones and wondering how the hell an AM radio host has enough clout to move about in high society

I always understood it as him already being part of higher society, but doing radio gave him more notoriety than just being another psychiatrist. Niles married into money, but I don't know if that brought him into high society, or just boosted his standing.

Rush Limbaugh, Howard Stern, etc. So it wouldn't have been too difficult to imagine that a big city radio show psychiatrist (a profession that might be considered just respectable enough to be slightly above the "shock jocks" of the day) would be moderately famous enough to mingle with the bourgeoisie back then.

The show's depiction of talk radio was iirc already anachronistic, being more like 80s or 70s radio before it all got political and hyper focused.
