standing up from my sit down desk, to walk over to a pc, to open up a software, to enter "147 minus 28", is literally a waste of my time, when I can easily stand up from my desk, hunt around the dispensary for a calculator, and hit 147 minus 28, and get the correct answer immediately, so I can enter it into my paper and pen based controlled drug register

when I took the EIT exam someone didn't bring from the list of approved calculators so they asked the giant room before the exam if anyone had a compliant backup.
I offered up my backup which was an HP-33s in RPN mode. The guy tried to dork with it for a few minutes and said "uhh.. no thanks".

I like to think mr. unprepared is probably responsible for inspecting and cleaning phase buses at a nuke plant today.

my point is that he probably has a PE now and hopefully reads rules better.
But yes I'm guilty of being elitist about RPN

I mean sure the ti994a was inferior to basically every other computer

but if it hadn’t been, my mom wouldn’t have bought one with a bunch of games from a dude at work for $20 for my sister

and if that had happened my first programming language wouldve been qbasic on a pentium90 and none of the other old nerd dads would want to talk to me
