This is going to hurt cap-wise, but I'll select Patric Hornqvist because wow there really aren't a lot of good RWs left.

Nyquist - Monahan - Wheeler
Johansson - Trocheck - White
x - Steel - Hornqvist
x - Ryan - x

Hedman - Petry
McNabb - Miller

dang, hornqvist was one of the last RW's I was targeting.

But not top of my list (cause he old). The Vancouver Canucks will be taking Anthony Duclair. Despite playing less than 13 minutes a night on average for 2 teams over 74 games last season he still managed, at 23 years of age, to put up 19 goals and 14 assists; while the previous couple seasons have been up and down for him, I think he can produce as a healthy clip for a 3rd liner, and can probably slot in on either the left or right wing

I was hoping he would have come around. As long as he's motivated and getting ice time, he's a decent player - or at least he was with Columbus.

Thanks. My original pick for “cheap veteran d who can skate well and kill penalties” was taken when Coburn got drafted so I went with the unremarkable but solid John Moore.

I'm comfortable under the cap for this season provided I don't spend 10 million on my 4th line, but have probably atleast 15 million in pay rises from RFA's (Reinhart, Gustafsson, DeBrusk, Mckenzie).

Thus taking Simmonds on a one year remaining contract. Simmonds isn't worth 5 million, but he's still a good player - probably won't be in 2/3 years but I'd likely not try and resign him after this season anyway.

Gives me a checking line of

Branden Tanev Carl Soderberg Wayne Simmonds

Of which I'm pretty happy with.

When you think "I need some offensive depth" you think of the Dallas Stars, so I take Jason Dickinson as my 4C.

Jamwad skipped, so I'll roll the dice on Evan Bouchard for my bottom-pair because his production has been elite at every level and there aren't five defensemen currently better than him in Edmonton.
