it was a real stupid thing to do immediately before announcing a Tekken 7 Season 3 I mean it was dumb in general but the timing was not fantastic

Wow at BBTAG and SCVI being top games...

Does SC6 have something big planned I don’t know about. I know they already showed off season 2 and some system changes but I think it’s less popular in Japan than the rest of the world.

BB Tag has the big 2.0 version planned. So I can see why that one is chosen as main. No clue for SC6 though. But SC6 has 2B so i'm glad

Is this going to be like Soul Calibur 3 where the US PS2 was the open beta and then the real game hit Japanese arcades?

So apparently that post Evo Red Bull party was a bit of a poo poo show. And by “a bit” I mean that people were literally roofied or sexually assaulted. Someone tried to reach up Zorine’s skirt and got into a literal fight afterwards

Death to Evo. There's no loving excuse anymore. This poo poo happens elsewhere I'm sure but there seems to be a pretty specific locus on the old guard for the FGC. Just wait for announcements to be shared elsewhere and watch near any tourney besides it. The institution needs to die and be replaced.

You can kill as many tournaments as you want, this poo poo goes WAY beyond EVO organization and it's a cultural problem with any activity that's male-dominated - GDQ has had abuse cases, other tournaments too, etc. Replacing it isn't gonna solve poo poo, honestly. Now, Mr. Wizard getting a clue that maybe handwaving domestic abuse as soon as the vaguest hint of plausible deniability shows up and this type of poo poo happening might be connected would be a good thing.

That's how you would get through to Mr. Wizard though, by boycotting and actively opposing Evolution. I guess focusing on the old scene specifically is probably wrong though. I'm just still mad at how okay they all were with the horrid poo poo Marn got up to and remained friends with him. And the poo poo with Aris, although he did apologize. Not a great apology though. And like someone else said, the racist bullshit the Capcom rep threw at Mike Ross, and now that I'm thinking about it Mike Ross for letting Marn onto that Capcom show he had, and and and I think I just need to take a break from things involving people who play things I like.

In MY opinion, this is why boycotting or just "switching" doesn't work. It's the kinda space where I feel you just have to keep making more noise until people are forced to acknowledge these weird "he's a good person tho" attitudes if you wanna stay within it, because a boycott just reinforces the insularity of it all. Of course I don't begrudge people just dropping it altogether either, god knows I got fuckin' tired of local bullshit during early SF5 days. It's also good to support alternatives tho. If a TO actually takes a hardline stance against this bullshit and cuts down on the "he's actually a good dude tho", you wanna boost that poo poo. I think that's a better way of going about boycotting too, but I have philosophical issues with that kinda stuff which are besides the point.

It's pretty crazy and also inspiring that some kids can come outta nowhere and start dominating well-connected FG pros who have full-time sponsorships and training partners.

There's also the part where people don't become that good in a vacuum, and that there has to be some sort of community bringing players up to that level. It's cool how people are now going to Pakistan to train, which hopefully leads to more folks from their scene showing up at big events.
