I was gonna homer it up with Smith but I'll take the higher end defensive prospect (we'll see if he's as ready, but I expect him to play being that it's Ottawa): Erik Brannstrom. Connor-MacKinnon-Terry Gusev-Hischier-Kovalchuk McCann-Borgstrom-Kyrou ?-?-? ?-? Morrissey-Ekblad Girard-Gudas Brannstrom-? ? Binnington ? Head Coach: ?

Tough pick but I will take Nick Bjugstad to be my 3C. I think if he is healthy he puts up 40 points in Pittsburgh. Big and talented and pushes Jarnkrok to 4C. Zuccarello-O'Reilly-Mantha Voracek-Hughes-Connolly Vesalainen-Bjugstad-Frolik Jarnkrok Hronek-Klingberg Severson-Fox Varlamov

With the 450th pick the Vancouver Canucks are going to select Miles Wood; the 23 year old winger took a step back last season in terms of production - compared to the season before - but I think that's easily explained by his shooting percentage dropping from 11.2 to 6.3 - and I think he'll likely have a better season this year. That aside he still went 10-14-24 over 63 games; if he can put in a full 82 I think he'll be a very decent 3rd line LW - which completes my third line

He looked clueless on the ice most of the season and never got going. He needs to rebound.

corn on the cop posted:Selecting for VOTE1, Nick Holden Thank you, reasoning below. The Jets advanced analytics research unit has uncovered a potentially draft altering discovery. In his first four seatson Nick Holden scored 32 times, culminating in 11 goals in 2016/17. Now some people will foolishly point to his double average shooting percentage for the season, and that his PDO was a unsustainable 102.4, but they are missing a key until now undiscovered factor. In a game on the 21st of March 2017 against the Devils, Nick got into a fight with Blake Coleman, the fight was a draw after the referees intervened before a player could gain the upper hand. Instead of fighting again and risking a game misconduct, they agreed to settle this argument in the way that all disputes should be - a single faceoff in three on three overtime. The draw was engineered, with both team's centres being thrown from the circle, leaving the Defenceman to take the draw. The puck was dropped, Nick Holden lost the draw, and moments later household name Joseph Blandisi put the puck in the net, not only was the game lost, but the sense of shame for losing the faceoff was immense. As an aside, after the game Nick confronted Blandisi in the corridors and asked hom for the match winning puck (it had no value but Nick figured it would go for $100 on Ebay), Blandisi said no, and in response Nick Holden cursed Joseph Blandisi. Since that day he has never scored again in the NHL! Blake was overjoyed for winning the faceoff (less so the game to be honest), for he had stolen the goal scoring ability from Nick. Since then Blake has scored 32 goals. Coincidence? maybe. Factually incorrect? Yes, it's actually 33, but regardless it is still more than enough proof that losing this faceoff has caused Holden's offensive contributions to drop off. What followed was a massive loss in confidence and form. Over the next couple of years Nick bounced around from the Rangers to Boston to the Golden Knights never capturing back his previous goal scoring touch. With only 7 goals in two seasons this affliction is severe, but in picking him with the 456 pick we have a plan. The Jets front office has already approached the Buffalo Sabres and Mr Fisk about a pre season exhibition game. The target - Dustin Brown. With 1 faceoff win out of 16 last season, he cant possibly beat Nick Holden. As a precaution we have also paid off the refs, even with that it wont be easy to engineer the scenario where the two of them need to face off, but for the next two months, we have the entire front office working on this scenario. By winning that one faceoff, all will change. Other observers have noted that the Jets have not signed any right side defence yet, and Nick Holden appears to be ok in doing that. But that's clearly only a minor point in this decision.
