Washington selects Laurent Brossoit.

While he didn't play a lot of games, his sv%, gsaa, and quality start percentage were good.

ZAR is a great 4th liner/plug. He can slot up with injuries and not be a complete black hole on a line which is more than you could ask for with a pick at this stage.
He had a bit of an up and down season last year but that's because he bounced between playing with Malkin and the corpse of Matt Cullen so just being on a consistent line might see him establish himself as a more dominant forward. He's show the ability in bursts.

Jets select Chris Tanev.

Hoping with not as heavy deployment this year (which should be possible given Vancouver d changes) he is able to bounce back a bit.

If not, he will still be ok, and only has one year left on his deal.

Oh and also it means brothers on the same team which is cool.

This is the point where I'm starting to throw darts with a lot of players, but Lawrence Pilut was probably the second-best defenseman on the Sabres last year and should only improve with a greater role this year.

Gonna take a reach on a player that might not even play this season with Karson Kuhlman

At 23 he's only played 11 regular season games for the Bruins, which isn't much of a sample to draw anything from. Never-the-less I'm going to!

Who cares if he shot 20%, he did it on 12 minutes a night! I like it.

I think the closest is Carolina's 2001-02 squad, who iced Darren Langdon for an average of 3:21 in 54 games, Craig Adams for 4:30 in 44 games, and Jeff Daniels for 7:30 in 67 games, while true full-timer Tommy Westlund averaged 9:22 across 79 games.

The Ottawa Senators select Derrick Pouliot.

I was going to start taking prospects here, and I'll likely mostly take prospects the rest of the way, but Pouliot can play 16 decent minutes / night, and step up the lineup for a few games in the event of an injury, and that's what I want out of a 3rd pairing guy. That and a one year prove it contract, with a 700k salary, that leaves him as an RFA after it expires.

Tkachuk - Skinner - Hinostroza
Lowry - Simon

Interesting. I thought I remembered Canucks fans saying he was a bit unsung. Well either way he can eat minutes, badly or no, and if he does actually suck he can just get third pairing minutes and I can move Fox up.
