since charitable giving is tax deductible its also a way for the rich to direct government spending towards their pet causes (and away from the things that congress has passed legislation to spend money on) via tax expenditures

I went to a highschool dropout education program funded by the Gates foundation and literally the only book we were assigned to read in the "reading" class was atlas shrugged I don't know if that was just a lovely instructor or a thing across the whole program but it seemed hilariously suspicious even to my addled teenage libertarian brain
