He's already spun it more that you're making a statement than actually, you know, backing a comic. I backed the anthology Renfamous is working on. It'll be in stores this fall. I'm not supporting her having five pound lobster dinners, brandy and cigars like Uncle Ethan brags about. It should be easy to tell the difference but they persist.

I once read that support for Boris Johnson wasn't in spite of his history of failure, but because of it. Johnson's ability to succeed despite having no actual ability or history of success becomes both symbol and demonstration of the strength of the class system, as it's the only thing he has going for him. And if he can become Prime Minister, then the class system (that his supporters, in some minor way, benefit from) must be strong. EVS support might work on the same wavelength--you're pouring money into creating a demonstrable "proof" that your worldview is popular and valid enough that those views alone are sufficient to keep EVS in brandy.

Yeah, Dead Beats also looks like it could potentially be pretty good. I'm happy to take a punt on a themed anthology from a wide variety of artists, many of which are new to me. Cyberfrog just looks loving terrible in the most banal mid-90s rejected-by-Image way.

I met Steven Seagal once when I was young and had never seen a movie of his. He had a child at St. Jude at the same time I had a family member there. He was nice at the time I remember. Sucks he turned out to be as lovely as he is.
