Apparently the people bitching about wait times have never had to go to a specialist or get mental health treatment. I had to wait 3 months for a specialist appointment when I was making GBS threads kerosene on a daily basis and am still fighting to find a therapist after six months. I don't know what the times are like in Canada but it's not like we're gazelles in America.

I don't have any experience with the Canadian system, but I've had a few friends deal with the public system in Costa Rica. The wait times do suck. My neighbor had a heart attack and needed surgery, and he was just sitting there in the hospital for like a month before they could get to him. But like, he got treatment and he's getting continued therapy and he's fine now and it didn't cost anything. He's just OK now and continuing to live his life. I know a lot of old people here and I've seen people go through cancer treatments, etc. on the public system, and have absolutely fine outcomes. It sucks to wait, but it sucks a lot worse to just die because you have no money. Or, get treatment then be enslaved to debt for the rest of your days. BTW this is a country with a per capita income of like 11k, maybe a quarter of the US. Bernie talks about "every major country" has health care but like, a lot of smaller, poor countries do to.
